  • Patent number: 5992612
Abstract: An apparatus for intermittently feeding glass containers continuously approaching in a first plane in a first direction into an annealing lehr in a second direction in the first plane by a feed bar mounted for reciprocal movement in the second direction on a carriage suspended by support struts slidably connected to parallel guide rails disposed in a plane substantially normal to the first plane.

  • Patent number: 5167115
Abstract: An endless conveyor in a ring spinning machine comprises bobbin pegs for receiving full and empty bobbins which must assume an exact position in order in a predetermined bobbin change position of the endless conveyor to come into alignment with a spindle or bobbin support arrangement and thus ensure bobbin transfer from or to the bobbin peg. The endless conveyor is divided in the longitudinal direction into various sections which are connected by connecting links or locks of different length in such a manner that a plurality of bobbin pegs arranged on a section in the bobbin change position of the endless conveyor can be exactly aligned with the associated spinning points by inserting locks of different length or by changing the effective length of the locks at both ends.

  • Patent number: 4762039
Abstract: A running strand of hot steel stock is severed at desired intervals by two knives which are located in a common plane and are mounted in a common holder movable transversely of the advancing strand by a double-acting hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder and piston assembly. The holder for the knives is coupled to the strand prior to start of the severing operation, and one of the knives is thereupon caused to penetrate into the material of the strand to be retracted prior to penetration, or simultaneously with penetration, of the other knife which operates in the same plane so that the stock is severed without the formation of burrs, fins or similar irregularities.

  • Patent number: 4694247
Abstract: Elongated ferromagnetic parts of cylindrical or polygonal cross-sectional outline are tested while rotating about their axes and while advancing longitudinally along a cushion of dry pulverulent magnetic material which is supplied by one or more pneumatic conduits into the range of one pole of a first U-shaped electromagnet whose poles extend in the longitudinal direction of but do not contact the parts. The electromagnet establishes a stray magnetic flux in the region of each defect on the ferromagnetic part which is being tested and such flux or fluxes attract pulverulent material which thereby pinpoints the locations of defects. A second electromagnet is placed next to the one pole of the first electromagnet and its poles are spaced apart from each other as considered in the longitudinal direction of the tested part.

  • Patent number: 4475423
Abstract: In shears for rod-form material, especially in connection to roll trains, the problem exists of a space-saving construction, especially in the sidewise direction, in view of the multiple arrangements, as well as increased safety (reliability) of operation for the high-pressure hydraulic system of the cutting drive. The shear provided with two knife holders (MT1, MT2) and a fluid drive element (ZK) as well as a respective pressure feeding device (DS), is so designed, for this purpose, that the pressure work chambers (DA1, DA2) of the drive element, such as a double-acting cylinder-piston arrangement, and the elements carrying pressure fluid (high-pressure pumps, etc.) of the pressure feeding device (DS) are designed to be movable in common with a knife holder (MT1) which is movable in relation to the machine frame or a conduction (SF) of material to be cut, and preferably fixed in space with this latter (MT1).

  • Patent number: 4385538
Abstract: A shear for cutting bar stock includes upper and lower cutting blade supports each having a cutting blade, and a hold-down member, all pivotally connected about a working bearing. This assembly is pivotally mounted about a second bearing or pivot axis on one end of a frame of the shear, and is height-adjustable by a lockable hydraulic actuator attached to the upper cutting blade support at the opposite end of the shear, to provide vertical adjustability of the cutting point with minimal horizontal or angular displacement thereof. Preferably, the two pivot axes and the cutting point are coplanar. The upper cutting blade support is pivoted relative to the lower one by a hydraulic actuator engaging the upper support at one upper part thereof which is not so coplanar, to provide both a relatively long lever arm and a relatively long cutting arm for minimizing arcuation of the cutting movement. One cutting blade is adjustable within its support for optimum positioning taking into account the shape of the stock.

  • Patent number: 4256580
Abstract: The invention relates to a mechanico-biological waste water purifying plant. The plant has a trough and at least one partially immersible rotatable body arranged therein, the body having a stack of discs which are partially immersed in waste water in the trough and a shaft projecting at its end beyond the stack of discs. The ends of the shaft are supported rotatably in the bearings which have at least two bearing rollers upon which the ends of the shaft are positioned so as to be liftable upwards freely therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4138334
Abstract: The invention relates to a trashrack installation for liquid borne trash, the installation having trash collecting rack rods and a rack cleaner mechanism for cleaning the rack rods and which includes a toothed comb mounted on a tilting mechanism and pivotable between a cleaning position and a free position. The tilting mechanism is mounted pivotably on a carrier which can be moved by means of a conveyor mechanism along a guiding device, tilting of the tilting mechanism relative to the carrier being actuated by movement of the conveyor mechanism and the guiding device being arranged remote from the rack rods through which the liquid flows. The carrier includes a brake mechanism, the braking force of which is sufficient to prevent movement of the carrier under gravity, but which is insufficient to prevent the conveyor mechanism moving the carrier either in a direction for cleaning or in a return direction.
