  • Publication number: 20240122510
Abstract: Blood sample optimization systems and methods are described that reduce or eliminate contaminates in collected blood samples, which in turn reduces or eliminates false positive readings in blood cultures or other testing of collected blood samples. A blood sample optimization system can include a blood sequestration device located between a patient needle and a sample needle. The blood sequestration device can include a sequestration chamber for sequestering an initial, potentially contaminated aliquot of blood, and may further include a sampling channel that bypasses the sequestration chamber to convey likely uncontaminated blood between the patient needle and the sample needle after the initial aliquot of blood is sequestered in the sequestration chamber.

  • Patent number: 9398013
Abstract: A system and method for allowing a user to access enterprise resources comprising authentication devices and an authentication server. The authentication devices allow a user to enter authentication data. The authentication server is in communication with the authentication devices. The authentication server comprises a policy database storing a policy. The policy comprises guidelines including a first guideline establishes a qualification necessary for the user to access enterprise resources and a second guideline establishes a qualification necessary for the user to activate a silent signal. The authentication server is adapted to request assistance for the user if the silent signal is activated.

  • Patent number: 8132226
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product that utilizes measurements for the authentication of users to enterprise resources. The system includes an authentication server that stores the engine and collections of data required by the system to authenticate users. The collections of data include templates, policies, groups, device IDS, user IDS, computer IDS and application IDS. In the present invention, it is the policies that determine the way or method in which a user is to be authenticated by the system. The pre-defined polices include an OR policy, an AND policy, a CONTINGENT policy, a RANDOM policy and a THRESHOLD policy, a multi-user policy, a multi-location policy, a multi-template policy, a user dependent policy, a location restriction policy, and a computer/device specific policy.

  • Publication number: 20070300274
Abstract: A system and method for multi-casting video content to a user computer. A buffering marker and a display marker are inserted into in a video content program stream. Non-video data is associated with the buffering marker and the display marker and inserted into the video content program stream. The video content program stream comprising the buffering code marker, the display code marker, and the non-video data are distribute from a content center to a regional data center via an open network and from a distribution network to user computer according to a multi-cast protocol. The non-video data is buffered at the user computer at a time determined by the buffering marker. The non-video data is displayed on the user computer contemporaneously with the video content program stream at a time determined by the display marker.

  • Publication number: 20030088878
Abstract: An efficient and effective system and method for the distribution of video and television broadcasts over the Internet in a multi-cast mode. A high-quality video multi-casting service is distributed, meaning that a single program is simultaneously sent to many individuals. The service also has an interactive communication and information environment associated with it, using the Internet protocol so that additional content can be viewed along with the video that is being received.

  • Patent number: 6256737
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product that utilizes biometric measurements for the authentication of users to enterprise resources. The system includes a biometric server that stores the engine and collections of data required by the system to authenticate users. In the present invention, it is the biometric policies that determine the way or method in which a user is to be authenticated by the system. The execution of the biometric policies involves the use of one or more biometric templates. Biometric devices utilize a scientific technique to identify a user based on compared measurements of unique personal characteristics. These measurements, called biometric measurements, may include, but are not limited to, measurements of finger and hand geometry, retina and facial images, weight, DNA data, breath, voice, typing stroke and signature. The biometric policies of the present invention provide flexibility to the level of protection for individual enterprise resources.
