  • Patent number: 4106809
Abstract: A seat base unit and a seat back unit are pivotally supported on a vehicle body. The units are movable between seat-forming positions wherein the units comfortably accommodate passengers and load-carrying positions wherein they protectively close a load-carrying space. A foldable floor is interconnected with the seat base unit for movement between a stowed position when the units are in the seat-forming positions and a floor-forming position when the units are in the load-carrying positions. A spring is used for counterbalancing the weight of the units and the foldable floor and thereby to facilitate the movement of the units and the foldable floor between the respective positions thereof.

  • Patent number: 4022229
Abstract: A hollow handle adapted to receive a supply of dental floss. A cap in releasable assembly with the handle. The cap comprises studs for supporting a length of floss which is pulled from the supply. The assembled cap and handle form a clamping engagement and a V-shaped groove between the same two surfaces for locking the floss so that it is held taut between the studs during flossing. The cap has a male shank for assembly with a female engaging end of the handle.

  • Patent number: 4010716
Abstract: The invention pertains to a rotary machine embodying as major elements a dual rotor consisting of two rotor halves rotating in a circular housing and an oscillator comprised of a cascade of elliptical gears. The periphery of the housing is adapted, with respect to intake, outlet and other necessary means, to suit the purpose for which the machine is intended. The dual rotor has an even number of vanes shaped to best suit the purpose of the machine. Half of the vanes are located on each rotor half in such a manner as to be able to rotate with the rotor halves in the circular housing and to oscillate with respect to each other creating working chambers of varying volume while rotating in the same direction. The oscillations are imposed by the oscillator which includes an input-output shaft integrated with a pair of elliptical gears in the center of the cascade. The space between the dual rotor and the housing and between the respective rotor parts is sealed by a suitable sealing system.
