  • Publication number: 20060093679
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with solid, single-dose dosage forms for an increased rate of release of slightly soluble active ingredients. The dosage forms are based on a coherent matrix which disintegrates rapidly in physiological fluids. The matrix comprises one or more slightly soluble active ingredients in the form of fast-release micro- or nanocapsules. The dosage form is particularly suitable for administering those slightly soluble active ingredients for which a rapid onset of action is desired.

  • Patent number: 6655112
Abstract: A primary packaging unit for film-like or wafer-like administration forms for oral application with an off-cut of an upper web of packaging material and of an lower web of packaging material is characterized in that a plurality of dosage units of a film-like or wafer-like administration form, individually sealed in flat compartments formed without cold or hot forming of the packaging material and spaced at a distance to one another, are present in a primary packaging unit, and there are perforations between the compartments which enable the separation of individual compartments, if necessary.

  • Publication number: 20020002364
Abstract: An osmotic device for the controlled release of active compounds into the fluid of the gastrointestinal tract through an outlet opening arranged in the outer membrane of the device is characterized in that the outlet opening, compared with areas of the device designed to maintain a distance relative to the surface of the mucous membrane, is arranged in a position of the external membrane at a distance from the surface of the mucous membrane which, relatively thereto, is further away.

  • Patent number: 6290989
Abstract: The present invention describes a device for the controlled release of active compounds in the gastrointestinal tract with delayed pyloric passage, having a component expandable on contact with gastric juice, which is surrounded by a polymer covering which is permeable to gastric juice and active compounds. The device contains at least one active compound which is present in a multiparticulate preparation which releases the active compound into the gastric juice with a delay. Compared with conventional pharmaceutical forms with delayed pyloric passage, the release of active compound from a device according to the invention can be better controlled; likewise the device can be easily rolled or folded and can be introduced into capsules without problems.

  • Patent number: 6270798
Abstract: A pharmaceutical lozenge for the modified release of active compounds in the gastrointestinal tract is described, with active-compound-containing particles which have a first coating controlling the release and a further, outer coating with saliva-resistant properties. The first coating, which controls the release of active compound, can have release-delaying or enteric properties.

  • Patent number: 6264985
Abstract: A dry-coated tablet for controlled release of active substance, having an erodible core tablet (1) containing at least one active substance, and a substantially erosion-resistant shell consisting of a dry-coated layer (5), is characterized in that the dry-coated layer (5) has at least one opening (6), and one end of the core tablet (1) extends as far as the opening (6).

  • Patent number: 6238698
Abstract: An oral preparation, comprising at least one pharmaceutical active compound in a matrix which is swellable in aqueous medium, which is released from the matrix into the aqueous medium in a delayed manner on swelling thereof, while the matrix is largely resistant to disintegration during the release process, it is characterized in that it is a layered tablet with layers adhering to one another, of which at least one layer is the swellable matrix layer and at least another layer is an auxiliary and/or excipient layer, and in that the swellable matrix layer contains an amount of crosslinked amylose.
