Patents by Inventor Karsten HOEHN

Karsten HOEHN has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20240175360
Abstract: A carbon fiber rock bolt including: an outer carbon fiber rope including a series of tow fibers; and an inner core material. As the tension on the rock bolt increases beyond a predetermined limit, the inner core material undergoes a spatial compression, whilst the angle of twist in the carbon fiber rope strands decreases, resulting in extension of the carbon fiber rock bolt, replicating the ductility seen in steel rock bolts.

  • Patent number: 10472947
Abstract: Apparatus for measuring deformation of an elongate body defining an axis, the apparatus including: an optical fibre arranged relative to the body, the optical fibre including a first strain sensitive optical fibre portion coupled to the body and at least partially aligned at a first angle relative to the axis, and a second strain sensitive optical fibre portion coupled to the body and at least partially aligned at a second angle relative to the axis, the second angle being opposite to the first angle; a radiation source connected to an end of the optical fibre, the radiation source being for supplying electromagnetic radiation to the optical fibre; a sensor connected to an end of the optical fibre, the sensor being for sensing electromagnetic radiation received from the first and second optical fibre portions; and a processing device for determining the deformation of the body using the sensed electromagnetic radiation, the deformation including any axial or torsional deformation.

  • Publication number: 20090306944
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for use in the clinical/therapeutical field for the patient-individual optimization of the dosage and/or the dosage scheme of a drug based on rational, mathematical models which take into consideration possible physiological variations that are due to the illness or other particularities of the patient and the interaction with co-drugs that are administered at times close to each other. The invention also relates to the supply of said drug dose by means of a dosage device.
