  • Patent number: 6112885
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a transport apparatus for thin, board-shaped substrates, for example printed circuit boards, which are conveyed through a coating installation and the like. In order to simplify manipulation during conveying, there is provided a frame (1) for holding a substrate (7), tensioning elements (4) being arranged spaced from one another on frame members (2), lying opposite one another, of the frame (1), which tensioning elements (4) engage the edge of the substrate and tension the substrate, the frame (1) being provided with a device (16) which serves to provide connection to a conveyor belt or the like. The tension springs (4) exert a tension away from the substrate (7) in the direction of the plane of the thin substrate to avoid sagging of the substrate. FIG. • Patent number: 5637148
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for coating printed circuit boards on both sides are described in which the printed circuit boards are transported through several consecutive processing stations of a coating installation. In a first coating station, one side of the printed circuit boards is wet-coated with preferably UV-hardenable plastics and the printed circuit boards are subjected to vapour-removal and drying in a first vapour-removal and drying station. The printed circuit boards are turned and, in a second coating station, their second side is wet-coated with preferably UV-hardenable plastics and then are subjected to vapour-removal and drying in a second vapour-removal and drying station. The boards are finally transferred from the coating installation to other processing apparatuses for further processing. In the coating operation, the printed circuit boards are transported in opposite directions through the two coating stations which are arranged side by side in two parallel lines of apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5462599
Abstract: An apparatus for coating board-shaped articles, especially printed circuit boards, comprises a preheating station for the printed circuit boards which is arranged at the entrance to the apparatus, and following the preheating station, in the sequence of their arrangement, at least one coating station for coating at least one side of the printed circuit boards with preferably UV-hardenable plastics, lacquer or the like, and at least one vapour-removal and drying station, each of which processing stations has transport means for the printed circuit boards. The transport means in the vapour-removal and drying station are equipped with carrying elements for the longitudinal edges of the printed circuit boards, the width of which elements can be adjusted to the width of the printed circuit boards to be carried and which support and guide the printed circuit boards at the longitudinal edges over their entire length.

  • Patent number: 5368643
Abstract: A board to be coated is conveyed by means of first transport means in the form of a roller conveyor to a curtain coating device. The latter comprises second transport means in the form of two conveyor belts, each of which runs round an associated straightening bar in the direction of transport of the board. The straightening bars are movable and as they move towards one another they align the boards at the side edges thereof in such a manner that the side edges extend approximately parallel to the direction of transport of the board. Conical rollers are connected to the straightening bars. During alignment, that is to say, when the straightening bars are moved towards one another, the board to be coated is at the same time lifted from the roller conveyor by means of the conical rollers and conveyed via the surfaces of the conical rollers to the conveyor belts. The latter engage laterally at the board edges and transport the board through a pouring curtain for the purpose of coating.

  • Patent number: 5339537
Abstract: A continuous drier for flat piece material, especially for liquid-coated printed circuit boards, and the like, comprises a heatable drier housing and a transport path that ascends in the housing and, after passing an upper turning point descends again. Secured to an endless chain that extends substantially vertically are carriers for the piece material to be transported, which carriers project outwards from the endless chain. The drier also comprises a supply duct for drying air for the piece material to be dried. The supply duct is so arranged that an airstream supplied by it flows over the piece material transversely to the direction in which the carriers project from the chain links.

  • Patent number: 4559896
Abstract: A pouring head is arranged above a conveyer belt which carries objects to be coated with a coating material being poured from the pouring head in the form of a curtain extending transversely to the direction of travel of the belt. In order to limit the free falling curtain on both sides two rim severing organs are provided on each side of the curtain, one organ above the other, as well as curtain edge-guiding means, one for each severing organ, which are arranged each adjacent the severing organ to which it pertains. The lower severing organs are arranged a short distance above the conveyer belt. The two severing organs comprise blades for cutting off marginal strips from the falling curtain in two successive stages, thus reducing the width of the curtain to a desired size.

  • Patent number: 4505375
Abstract: An apparatus for conveying flat goods having one face covered with a liquid layer comprises two roller trains for, respectively, delivering the goods to and removing the goods from, a generally vertically orbiting chain having a first group of fork-shaped carriers attached thereto, and at least one generally horizontally conveyed, parallelogram-guided, fork-shaped carrier. The rollers of the roller trains are supported each only at one of its roller ends. The carriers of the first group have prongs which pass through gaps between adjacent rollers of the roller trains. Likewise, the prongs of one of the two carrier systems (the first group and the horizontally conveyed carrier or carriers) pass through gaps between adjacent prongs of the other system. The two carrier systems are driven from a common motor (variable drive).

  • Patent number: 4456389
Abstract: The heat exchange mantle of a reaction vessel is connected with a circulating pump and a chamber provided with an electrical heating coil to form a heat exchange circulation system. To this main circulation system, a cooling circulation system comprising a circulating pump and a heat exchanger is connected by way of a continuously operable valve. The temperature of the medium circulating in the main circulation system can be very effectively and rapidly influenced by dosed addition of cooled circulation medium from the cooling circulation system into the main circulation system as well as by heating with the electrical heating coil. In the cooling circulation system, in the reaction vessel and in its mantle, temperature sensors are arranged which are linked to a control computer. The computer controls the electrical heating coil and the valve in such a manner that the temperature in the reaction vessel or in its mantle, respectively, has a desired distribution prescribed by the operational mode.
