  • Publication number: 20170266029
Abstract: A kit and method are presented for making a mobile injury protection device, such as a splint, for protecting an injured body part, such as a limb. The kit includes a formable object and a heating source. The heating source is used to selectively heat the formable object to an elevated temperature, molding the formable object into a required shape for the injury protection device and allowing the molded object to cool to room temperature and become hard again. The formable object may be molded on or around and be in contact with the desired body part. The heating source may include a selectively activated chemical composition, for example by adding water or air to it.

  • Publication number: 20150282976
Abstract: A kit and method are presented for making a mending device, such as a splint, for immobilizing a body part, such as a limb. The kit includes a formable material and a heating source. The heating source is used to selectively heat the formable material to an elevated material, molding the formable material into a required shape for the mending device and allowing the molded material to cool to room temperature and become hard again. The formable material maybe molded on or around and in contact with the desired body part. The heating source may include a chemical composition that is selectively activated, for example by adding water to it.

  • Patent number: 7101179
Abstract: A kit for taking a dental impression comprises a thermoplastic material for bite registration on one jaw side, an impression compound for taking an impression of the opposite jaw side, and a tray for receiving the thermoplastic material on one side and the impression compound on an opposite side thereof. The tray includes a pair of opposing side walls and a flexible membrane extending therebetween, the flexible membrane defines a first receiving area and a second receiving area, the thermoplastic material is adapted to be molded to the flexible membrane and the side walls and extend past each of the side walls in order to impart sufficient rigidity to the tray.

  • Publication number: 20050034733
Abstract: A system and method for fabricating an interim dental guard device for preventing or reducing damage caused by bruxism to existing dentition and/or restorative dental work. The device is composed of a material that, when heated, is moldable around at least a portion of a patient's dental arch so as to form an impression of at least a portion of the dental arch, and that is solid at about normal body temperature so as to retain the impression once formed.
