    Abstract: A cleaning composition comprises a first surfactant and a second surfactant. The first surfactant is of the general formula R1—O-(A)mH, wherein R1 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon having from 10 to 16 carbon atoms, A is an alkyleneoxy group, and subscript m is a positive number. The second surfactant is of the general formula R2—O—(B)nH, wherein R2 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon having from 12 to 15 carbon atoms, B is an alkyleneoxy group, and subscript n is a positive number. The cleaning composition has an average degree of alkoxylation of from about 3 to about 8 moles and an excess of the first surfactant relative to said second surfactant. The cleaning composition can further comprise a third surfactant in addition to the first and second surfactants. If employed, the third surfactant typically can comprise a linear alkyl sulfonate (LAS) and/or an alkyl ether sulfate (AES).

    Abstract: There is provided according to the present invention an aqueous gel composition, comprising a) an ethoxylated polyhydric alcohol which comprises a reaction product of an alcohol having 3 to 6 hydroxy groups with ethylene oxide; and b) a gelling agent selected from the group consisting of a polyoxyethylene/polyoxypropylene/polyoxyethylene triblock surfactant having a molecular weight of from 4,000 to 16,000, and wherein the weight of the polyoxyethylene blocks is from 55% to 90% of the weight of the triblock surfactant; a crosslinked polyacrylic thickener; cellulose derivatives; hydrated silicas; and mixtures thereof. When the gelling agent is the triblock surfactants, the ethoxylated polyhydric alcohol comprises the reaction product of the polyhydric alcohol and up to 5 mole equivalents of ethylene oxide per mole equivalent of hydroxyl group in the alcohol.

    Abstract: There is provided a stable non-aqueous carrier for personal care compositions comprising: a) 80-98% by weight of a liquid polyoxyalkylene compound comprising a reaction product of an alcohol having 3 to 6 hydroxyl groups and ethylene oxide; and b) 2-20% by weight of a solid nonionic polyoxyalkylene compound selected from the group consisting of: i) solid nonionic triblock surfactants comprising an inner polyoxypropylene block and two outer polyoxyethylene blocks, wherein the number average molecular weight of the polyoxypropylene block is from about 2000 to about 2900, and the polyoxyethylene content is about 70 to 80 weight percent, based on the total molecular weight of the triblock surfactant; ii) solid polyethylene oxide having a number average molecular weight of greater than about 2000; and iii) mixtures thereof. There are also provided dentifrice compositions comprising the stable non-aqueous carrier.
