  • Publication number: 20110093385
Abstract: Financial institutions often process transactions on behalf of customers. The processing of these transactions may include the specification of a customer-specific identifier so that a customer receiving a record of the transaction is able to identify the transaction. For example, the customer-specific identifier may include a store number to help the customer identify a store from which the transaction originated. If the customer-specific identifier is not entered by the financial institution, a transaction case builder system may prompt a user for the identifier before the system will enter the transaction case data into a transaction processing system. The system may also transmit a pre-notification message to the customer alerting the customer to the transaction that is being processed. Furthermore, transaction processing may include matching transaction records and transaction advices regardless of whether the record and matching advice are received on the same day.
