  • Patent number: 5773762
Abstract: A woven wire harness assembly for use in restricted areas of varying sizes. The harness assembly includes a fabricate cable carrying a plurality of insulated conductor groups. The cable is formed of warp yarns woven with a weft yarn to form a trunk portion and a tube portion. Both the trunk portion and the tube portion terminate with a breakout area. The trunk portion includes a plurality of cells while the tube portion has only a single cell. The plurality of insulated conductors extend continuously along the length of harness assembly through the individual cells to finally consolidate and extend through the single cell. The cable is woven at a density which provides approximately 90% cover providing mechanical and thermal insulation for the insulated conductors.

  • Patent number: 5760340
Abstract: A woven transmission cable formed of a plurality of conductor wires arranged in side-by-side relationship forming an array which extends along a single plane. Coating the conductor wires with a self lubricating insulating material and separating them with warp yarns which are located between adjacent ones thereof. Weaving a weft yarn, formed also of a self lubricating material, to pass alternately over and under the warp yarns and the wires of the array, forming a woven structure in which the wires are capable of longitudinal adjustment relative to the warp yarns and the weft yarns. The longitudinal adjustment allows the cable to be shaped into an arcuate configuration while maintaining the wires along a single plane.

  • Patent number: 5373103
Abstract: A woven shielded cable in which a plurality of conductor wires and a plurality of spacer cords are alternately arranged to extend longitudinally of the cable. A woven outer cover is formed from metalized warp and weft yarns, to encapsulate the conductor and spacer cords to form a shield therefor. A set of binder yarns weave with the weft yarns on opposite side of the conductor wires and spacer cords to positively lock the warp yarns, the spacer cords and the conductor wires in position relative to each other. The cable may be formed with a hinge arranged longitudinally along an intermediate point. In this instance the warp yarns are divided into two groups which weave on opposed sides of the hinge and on opposite surfaces of the opposite sides. The conductor wires are stacked and shielded from each other when the cable is folded along the hinge.
