  • Publication number: 20050234639
Abstract: A communications-type car navigation system including a vehicle-mounted terminal and a server. When transferring, to the terminal, the result of a route searching which the server has performed, the server transfers the data that will satisfy the requirements of a route guiding method which the user wishes. Also, the server transfers the route data that has been compressed. Concerning the map data as well, the server transfers only the necessary attributes thereof. Moreover, the following conditions allow the operability to be enhanced: the selection of a map transferring method and the route guiding method where the driving state has been taken into consideration, and the selection of a guiding unit which the user wishes.

  • Publication number: 20050196131
Abstract: Potable terminal includes a position detection section for identifying a room where a user is currently in, and a personal authentication section, such as a fingerprint sensor. In each room, there is provided an Audio/Video apparatus controlled by an Audio/Video-apparatus controlling manager. Information of user's entry or exit into or from any one of the rooms is transmitted wirelessly from the potable terminal, in response to which the Audio/Video-apparatus controlling manager performs ON/OFF control of the Audio/Video apparatus of the room, reproduction start/stop control of a music piece, etc. When the user has moved from one room to another, the manager performs control for reproducing, in the newly-moved-to room, a continuation of the music piece that was being reproduced in the previous room. In this way, the Audio/Video apparatus can be controlled in accordance with the user and position of the user.

  • Publication number: 20050055154
Abstract: The object of the invention is to execute a program installed additionally on an in-vehicle unit, realizing improved visual recognition while the vehicle is driving. A program 7 to be installed additionally is downloaded along with its attribute data 8 from the service center system 10 into the program administrating section 202 of the in-vehicle unit, and they are managed in relation to each other. When the program is executed, the vehicle condition 1 is compared with the attribute data 8 related to the program and the program operation is controlled accordingly. When executing a program installed additionally on an in-vehicle unit, visual recognition of the display screen can be maintained even while the vehicle is driving.

  • Publication number: 20040037183
Abstract: Recording/reproducing apparatus records attribute information on sound data of a music piece onto a recording medium, and creates a rule table associating the attribute information and DSP program parameters. The recording/reproducing apparatus acquires, from the table, any of DSP program parameters that corresponds to the attribute information, and sets the DSP program parameter in the amplifier apparatus. The recording/reproducing apparatus also detects a recorded level of each succession of sound data to be recorded onto the medium, and then records the detected recorded level onto the medium in association with the sound data. Also, the recording/reproducing apparatus acquires a recorded level corresponding to a succession of the sound data to be reproduced, and adjusts, on the basis of the acquired recorded level, an output level of the succession of the sound.

  • Publication number: 20030074569
Abstract: The body of content, such as audio or AV content, is provided in encrypted form free of charge. User of a content reproduction apparatus can obtain the content body free at any time, and thus a need to back up the content body can be eliminated. Content key data for decrypting the content is, on the other hand, chargeable and provided for payment, and the user only has to back up this content key data. To prevent the backed-up content key data from being unfairly used by any other apparatus, an apparatus-specific code imparted to the user's content reproduction apparatus is backed up to a backup storage medium along with the content key data, and the backed-up content key data is allowed to be restored from the storage medium only to an apparatus having the same apparatus-specific code as the user's content reproduction apparatus. In this way, the user's content reproduction apparatus can perform an efficient backup of chargeable content.

  • Patent number: 6522109
Abstract: The present invention provides a power conversion apparatus capable of controlling switching timings of main and auxiliary switches to achieve soft-switching in both of the main and auxiliary switches. The power conversion apparatus comprises a control circuit operable to apply a turning-on signal to first and second auxiliary switches so as to turn on the first and second auxiliary switches to lead a current from an output terminal to an resonant inductor when a current from an input reactor is passing through the main switch before a turning-on signal is applied to the main switch. Subsequently, when a current passing through the resonant inductor is increased up to the same value as that of a current passing through the input reactor by a resonance generated in a resonant circuit formed of the resonant inductor and a snubber capacitor to provide approximately zero of the end voltage across the main switch, the control circuit is operable to apply a turning-on signal to the main switch.
