A transmission information management section manages transmission information including data identification information for identifying a type of data to be transmitted, and a destination address and source address of the data. A source address-determining section is operable when data to be transmitted is of a specific type, to refer to the managed transmission information, and out of the assigned source addresses, determine a source address used in the past for transmitting data to a destination address of the data to be transmitted, as a source address thereof. A communication control section causes the transmission section to transmits the data using the determined source address.

The management apparatus searches a device on the network and determines whether or not the searched device is searched by the another management apparatus, and acquires information from the device, that is not acquired among information on the device, in a case that it is determined that the device is not searched by the another management apparatus.

Abstract: A session management system enabling network resources to be efficiently utilized or saved when communication addresses are assigned to a network interface. The system manages sessions between a server having a plurality of addresses and a client. It is determined, in a case where an application provided with the client requests to communicate with the server, whether or not a session in which an address different from an address designated by the application is used is already established between the client and the server. The application is caused to communicate with the server by using the already established session when it is determined that the session is already established, and communicate with the server by using a newly established session when it is determined that the session is not established.

Abstract: A device management system includes a network device and an information processing apparatus. The network device generates request information including the information used to identify the user, and requests to issue access control information including access restriction information indicating whether or not each of the functions of the network device can be used. The information processing apparatus generates access control information which associates the access restriction information with the user information. The network device further controls the use of the respective functions with respect to the operation input in accordance with the access restriction information included in the generated access control information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for mitigating traffic increase due to both a proxy server and a network device transmitting response packets to a search request by multicast. The network device transmits to the proxy server information required for a client apparatus to communicate with the network device. When the proxy server is in a state where proxy-send of the information is possible, the network device restricts response to a search request by multicast from the client apparatus.

Abstract: An object of this invention is to stably correct and control the image write position of a recording medium in a horizontal scanning direction (main scanning direction) at low cost and high precision in an image forming apparatus having a function of detecting the end of a recording medium by a photosensor, and correcting and controlling the image write position in the horizontal scanning direction on the basis of the detection result. In the arrangement of the image forming apparatus according to the present invention, the light amount of a sheet end detection unit is adjusted by itself such that the end of a recording medium can always be detected at an appropriate light amount regardless of the state of the sheet end detection unit. The image write position in a direction (main scanning direction) perpendicular to the recording medium convey direction is corrected and controlled on the basis of a high-precision end detection result.
