  • Patent number: 5127796
Abstract: A rotary pump comprising a pump unit having a pump and a motor unit separated from the pump unit and having a motor for driving the pump. The rotary pump further comprises a watertight housing enclosing the motor and including a non-magnetic wall made of material which permeates magnetism, an input section attached to the pump, an output section attached to the motor and opposing the input section, with the non-magnetic wall interposed between the output section and the input section, and at least two magnets, one of which is fixed to that surface of the output section which opposes the input section, and the other of which is fixed to that surface of the input section which opposes the output section.

  • Patent number: 5035016
Abstract: In an air-mat apparatus, air mat has four air bags, two of which have a plurality of air-jetting holes and two others of which have no holes. In a preferred embodiment, the bags having the air-jetting holes are arranged in a zigzag pattern while the remaining two bags are arranged in a comb-shaped pattern. Air ports for the bags having air-jetting holes are connected through flowrate-adjusting valves to an air-distributing valve, while the air ports of the bags having no holes are also connected to the air-distributing valve but not through the flowrate-adjusting valves. The arrangement permits two of the air bags to be inflated and deflated to a specific degree, and the other two air bags to be inflated and deflated to a different degree.

  • Patent number: 4854833
Abstract: An electromagnetically reciprocating apparatus includes a piston assembly which is driven by an electromagnet repeating magnetization and demagnetization and a compression coil spring so as to reciprocate a front and rear pistons of the assembly in a front and rear cylinders. An air hole is formed in the rear cylinder to communicate a sealed inner space partitioned in the cylinder by the rear piston with an atmosphere. A valve is mounted on the air hole to adjust a resonance frequency of the vibration system of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4838771
Abstract: A biasing force adjusting apparatus is used for an electromagnetically driven reciprocating pump in which the piston is reciprocated to achieve pumping by a magnetic force cyclically generated from an electromagnet and a biasing force of a compression coil spring. The apparatus includes a pressing mechanism having a piston-cylinder unit to which a compressor is connected. The unit is detachably connected to a spring support to press the support at a predetermined pressure, and then a fixing screw is tightened to fix the support on a housing of the pump.

  • Patent number: 4583255
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a massage arrangement of the pneumatic type comprising a mat body provided with a plurality of juxtaposed air chambers, said mat body being subjected over the entire or local surface to repeated rhythmic wave motions involving expansion and contraction by repeating a successon of feeding and discharging of compressed air into and from said air chambers, whereby effective and stable massage is applied not only to the waist and back regions but also the neck and shoulder regions.
