  • Patent number: 6066858
Abstract: An autoradiographic process for obtaining locational information on two or more radioactively labeled substances which have different energy or half-life and are contained in a sample such as tissue of an organism. Specifically, the process includes the steps of placing the sample on a stimulable phosphor sheet having a plastic cover layer to cause the stimulable phosphor to absorb radiation energy of the labeled substances and reading the absorbed radiation energy out of the phosphor to obtain an image signal corresponding to one radioactively labeled substance and placing the sample on a stimulable phosphor sheet having a thinner plastic cover layer or no cover film to cause the stimulable phosphor to absorb radiation energy of the labeled substances and reading the absorbed radiation energy out of the phosphor to obtain image signals corresponding to plural radioactively labeled substances.

  • Patent number: 6026319
Abstract: A fluorescence detecting system detects auto fluorescence emitted from an intrinsic pigment in a part of an organism. An excitation light projector intermittently projects onto the part excitation light in the wavelength range which can excite the intrinsic pigment of the organism to emit auto fluorescence. A fluorescence detector extracts an auto fluorescence component in a desired wavelength range from auto fluorescence emitted from the pigment. A net auto fluorescence component in the desired wavelength range is obtained by subtracting a base line component in the desired wavelength range the fluorescence detector detects when the part of the organism is not exposed to the excitation light from a gross auto fluorescence component in the desired wavelength range the fluorescence detector detects when the part of the organism is exposed to the excitation light.

  • Patent number: 6002137
Abstract: A fluorescence detecting system detects auto fluorescence emitted from an intrinsic pigment in a part of an organism to be observed. An excitation light source projects onto the part to be observed excitation light in the wavelength range which can excite the intrinsic pigment of the organism to emit auto fluorescence. A first fluorescence detector extracts from the auto fluorescence emitted from the pigment a whole auto fluorescence component in a visible region having a predetermined wavelength range including a first relatively short wavelength range and a relatively long wavelength range. A second fluorescence detector extracts an auto fluorescence component in a second relatively short wavelength range in the visible region from the auto fluorescence. A divider carries out a division between the auto fluorescence components respectively extracted by the first and second fluorescence detector.

  • Patent number: 5833617
Abstract: A region of interest in a living body is exposed to excitation light, which causes it to produce fluorescence. The fluorescence is separated with respect to desired wavelength ranges and detected. A first detector detects an entire fluorescence component or a fluorescence sum component, which is the sum of a fluorescence component of a comparatively short wavelength region and a fluorescence component of a comparatively long wavelength region. A second detector detects a fluorescence component of a comparatively long wavelength region or a fluorescence difference component, which is the difference between a fluorescence component of a comparatively short wavelength region and a fluorescence component of a comparatively long wavelength region. The output from the first detector and the output from the second detector are divided by each other. The fluorescence intensity depending upon the distance with respect to the region of interest is thus corrected such that no error may occur in making an operation.

  • Patent number: 5696967
Abstract: A log data management system is used with a database processing system. The log data management system has a plurality of database update units coupled to a database through a common bus. Each of the database update units updates a resource of the database and records log data as an update record. The database update unit writes log data of the resource of the database in a local memory in order of update time of the resource. After the resource has been updated, the database update unit transfers the log data written in the local memory to the common memory. At this time, since the database update unit does not free the resource until the log data is non-volatilized in the common memory, log data are successively stored in the common memory in order of the update time of the resource. When a failure takes place in a resource of the database, log data stored in the common memory are referred to and thereby the resource is quickly closed and recovered.
