  • Patent number: 6270932
Abstract: An exposed film package for preserving one strip of exposed photographic film includes a film sheath, which has plural pockets. Plural film pieces are formed by cutting the one strip of the exposed film, and contained respectively in the pockets in the film sheath. An index photograph is constituted of photographic paper, on which positive images of frames from the one strip of the exposed film are printed. The photographic paper has a size substantially equal to the film pieces. The positive images are formed in reducing a size of the frames, and grouped in association with the film pieces. Groups of the positive images are arranged in consideration of an order of exposure of the frames. The index photograph is contained in one of the pockets in association with the film pieces constituting the one strip.

  • Patent number: 5876876
Abstract: A control negative for use in setting up exposure conditions for three colors in a photo-printer contains a mosaic pattern in a frame. The mosaic pattern is constituted of a plurality of segments of different densities and sizes. The segments are arranged such that the same area transmittance density can be obtained when density values are measured from different areas of the frame. The control negative is useful for different type photo-printers having different photometric areas for measuring the area transmittance density of the control negative.

  • Patent number: 5403138
Abstract: A booklet album including a stack of several double-sided photographs and covered with a protective cover. The booklet album includes pages which are designated to bear selected original frames from a photographic film strip of a predetermined size. The photoprints are stacked in the order designated for each page. Each double-sided photograph, includes two photoprints, which are laminated with one transparent sheet on their front surface. The laminated sheets are folded between the photoprints. A customer may order such a booklet album by making desired selections on an order form. Stickers are provided on the form, and placed on desired frames of a film strip. The stickers have markings so as to indicate which page the desired printed frames are to be positioned as well as markings indicating the size and orientation of the printed frame.

  • Patent number: 5306047
Abstract: A booklet album is constructed by a booklet body consisting of a bundle of photographs sandwiched between front and rear cover sheets, and a narrow adhesive tape which is adhered to one side of the booklet body so as to form the back or spine cover of the booklet album. A photograph binding apparatus is provided with a pair of nipping members for nipping the booklet body, and a photograph receiving tray for supporting the lower end of the booklet body inserted between the nipping members. When pressing the adhesive tape onto the booklet body, the photograph receiving tray is retracted from the booklet body after the booklet body is tightly nipped by the nipping members, and instead, a stage supporting the adhesive tape is lifted toward the booklet body. The stage is as large as the adhesive tape, and has a plurality of ridges for inventively pressing the adhesive tape.

  • Patent number: 5026236
Abstract: In an apparatus for making a booklet or album formed of a plurality of photographs bound by a cover sheet, many photographs are inserted between a pair of nipping plates in an insertable situation and are held loosely in an upright state on a photograph receiving member. In the insertable situation, the receiving member is vibrated and the photographs are straightened at lower ends and one side edges. The straightened photographs are nipped by a pair of nipping plates from both sides and moved to a bonding position above an adhesive layer on the cover sheet. Thereafter, a pressure roller is rolled in the longitudinal direction of the adhesive layer to press the cover sheet upwardly in order to attach the lower ends of the phographs to the adhesive layer. This cover sheet is bent in a channel shape by a V-shaped groove formed on a bending block along a rim on each side of the photographs.

  • Patent number: 4966285
Abstract: An index sheet formed of one recording sheet on which are printed, as small-size positive images in parallel rows, a plurality of scenes recorded on an image recording medium such as, for example, a photographic film, a still video floppy, a video cassette, or a video disc. The small positive images are arranged in the same order they were taken, and frame numbers are printed in juxtaposition with the respective positive images. To produce such an index sheet, a plurality of strips of negative are copied onto photographic paper in a reduced size with the negative strips inserted in a negative sheath. For a magnetic or optical image recording medium for a very large number of images, a lesser plurality of scenes read out are edited in such a manner as to arrange in a representative sample and thereafter are printed on a recording sheet.

  • Patent number: 4959683
Abstract: A picture display comprising elemental prints having enlarged divisional images with separation arranged in a matrix on a print holder so as to form a single picture, and a printing method and apparatus for making the picture strips as the elemental prints from a single frame of an original film. The printing apparatus has a printing stage movable in two directions perpendicularly intersecting each other so as sequentially to place divisions into which the image frame of the original film is notionally divided in a matrix in printing position for exposing a photographic paper to enlarged divisional images of the divisions in order by column or row, thereby making a picture strip with a row or a column of the enlarged divisional images formed thereon.

  • Patent number: 4937960
Abstract: A picture display assembly for displaying two different pictures includes a wavelike picture display member having two interleaved series of display sections disposed in different respective directions. Whole pictures are divided into picture segments which are attached or glued to the display sections for each picture to be displayed. The wavelike picture display member with two sets of picture segments attached is made by alternately feeding and gluing picture segments of the two different whole pictures one after another onto a web-like mounting sheet, forming folding lines between the picture segments. Thereafter the mounting sheet with picture segments glued is cut to a length sufficient to include the two sets of the two different whole pictures. Finally, the mounting sheet with the picture segments attached is folded in zigzags to form the two interleaved series of picture segments.

  • Patent number: 4866476
Abstract: A photographic printer makes enlarged elemental prints of portions, into which a single image frame of an original film is divided, and used to make a large size picture display. There are provided a film holder, movable in two dimensions; a position index panel with a plurality of possible positions corresponding to the portion for positioning the film holder to align the center of each portion with the printing axis of the photographic printer; a position indicating panel with a plurality of position indicating light emitting elements for selectively indicating a position where the film holder is to be placed; and an indicating member which is movable over the position indicating panel. The light emitting elements indicate the corresponding possible positions of the positioning panel. When aligning the indicating member with a light emitting element which is now emitting light, the film holder is placed in position so as to print a portion of the image frame to be printed into the printing position.
