  • Patent number: 8259956
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a jack, a noise-canceling section, a judgment section, and a first regulation section. The jack is connectable with a plug of a headphone including a microphone, outputs a first signal to the headphone, and inputs a second signal from the microphone. The noise-canceling section generates a third signal that cancels a noise component around the headphone based on the second signal input from the jack and enables an operation of superposing the third signal on the first signal. The judgment section judges whether at least one of the first signal and the second signal exceeds a predetermined level. The first regulation section regulates an operation of the noise-canceling section when the judgment section detects that the predetermined level is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 5548599
Abstract: Method and apparatus for processing data wherein control dependency on the host computer may be lower through an external control with the aid of a simpler program and wherein the data recording/reproduction may be performed efficiently without lowering the processing efficiency of the host computer. An error correction method is employed in which the error correction capability for burst errors may be improved.

  • Patent number: 4544922
Abstract: A desired character mainly composed of standard width dots selected from a matrix of orthogonally disposed rows and columns is displayed on a screen during scanning of the screen in horizontal and vertical directions. The display is smoothed by a circuit responsive to data stored in a memory. The smoothing involves the selected addition or removal, to or from particular portions of the character, of a small dot having a width one-third of the standard dot width.
