    Abstract: A TV receiver transmits video data from its tuner unit to its monitor unit via wireless transmission by using a channel shared with radar. When the tuner unit receives a program to be viewed, a recorder/player starts recording of the received program. When wireless transmission of the received program cannot be started on time at the program start time because of detecting an unused channel for wireless transmission, or when a radar wave in the shared channel is detected after starting wireless transmission and then wireless data transmission is interrupted, the recorder/player plays back on a time-shift basis the program recorded on the recording medium, and the program data played back is transmitted to the monitor unit. The TV receiver is capable of preventing the user from missing a program that he wants to view even when wireless data transmission is interrupted.

    Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an image display apparatus which enables cost reduction while being free from electromagnetic interference problems. A power supply circuit comprises, on a single circuit board, an AC inlet to which a power cord is connected from an external AC power supply, a filter circuit to which an inductance element is connected to suppress leakage of electromagnetic waves to the outside of the image display apparatus, and a switch which switches on/off an AC output supplied from the filter circuit. The circuit board of the power supply circuit is entirely covered by electromagnetic shielding means to shield electromagnetic waves. The electromagnetic shielding means is composed of, for example, a first shielding section which surrounds the lateral side of the circuit board and a second shielding section which covers the upper side of the circuit board. The second shielding section is formed of a part of the flat section of a rear cover of the image display apparatus.

    Abstract: An RGB signal from an input terminal is supplied to a triple over-sampling/sub-pixel control processing unit and a brightness signal generating circuit in which a brightness signal is generated. A brightness edge detection/judgment unit detects an edge from this brightness signal, judges the kind of the edge, fetches a coefficient select signal corresponding to the judgment result from a memory and supplies the signal to the control processing unit. A tap coefficient corresponding to this coefficient select signal is set in the control processing unit and a triple over-sampling processing is executed for each of RGB.     Abstract: The present invention provides a television apparatus that can reproduce and show a program when the program is stopped without a user performing troublesome operations even when the user is occupied with a sudden phone call or an unexpected visitor while he/she is watching television. A volume comparator starts recording of the program, which is currently being watched, by using a recording apparatus when a set volume value is lower than a threshold value or is set to a sound cancelling mode. Also, when a newly set volume value is higher than the threshold value or the sound cancelling is released, the volume comparator stops the display of the program that is currently being watched and starts reproducing display of the recorded program by returning to the recording start time point.

The video recording/playback device includes a randomly accessible storage unit and has a simultaneous recording/playback capability. If commercial video is skipped over and is not rendered by playback, the CM-substitute information is superimposed on the rendered video of the program associated with the commercial.
