In the communication system, the data receiving device includes a display on which information is displayed, an information display control unit that displays information based on the data to be displayed on the display if the data receiving device receives the date to be displayed from the data sending device, and a state display control unit that decides whether to display state information indicating that the data receiving device is in a waiting state for the data to be displayed when the data receiving device changes to the waiting state, in accordance with a type of the information displayed on the display.
