  • Patent number: 9205441
Abstract: A coating apparatus for forming a thin UV curable resin coating on threaded end portions of a steel pipe comprises a spraying unit having at least two nozzles adapted to spray the resin coating composition by pneumatic atomization toward the threaded end portion of the steel pipe, a resin supply system for supplying the resin coating composition to each nozzle, and a first nozzle support means which supports each nozzle for movement in the axial direction of the steel pipe and in the vertical direction. The two nozzles are disposed at different positions at least in the axial direction of the steel pipe at angles which are sloped such that the sprayed streams from the nozzles approach each other. The resin supply system has a regulator for maintaining the spraying air pressure of the resin coating composition in each nozzle of the spraying unit at a predetermined respective value.

  • Patent number: 7823931
Abstract: A tubular threaded joint which has excellent resistance to compression and which permits easy tightening operation in the field in a vertical state comprises a pin having a male threaded zone and a box having a female threaded zone. The pin or the box has an end shoulder surface on its end, and the other member has a shoulder surface which abuts against the end shoulder surface. The screw threads of the male threaded zone and the female threaded zone are trapezoidal threads having a crest, a load flank, and a stabbing flank. The lip length, which is the distance in the axial direction of a member having an end shoulder surface between the end shoulder surface and the closest engaged thread to that surface, is at least 140 times the stabbing flank clearance, which is the distance in the axial direction between the stabbing flanks of the male thread and the female thread when the load flanks of the male and female threads contact each other. The stabbing flank of the male thread is preferably chamfered.

  • Patent number: 6755444
Abstract: A threaded joint for oil well pipes is provided which can guarantee a joint efficiency sufficient for practical use in deep wells, which has a decreased joint outer diameter, and which has an improved bending resistance, compression resistance, and over-torque resistance which are sufficient for use by the side track technique. It is an integral threaded joint for oil well pipes in which it has a joint efficiency of at least 70%, the outer diameter of the joint is larger than and at most 1.08 times the outer diameter of the oil well pipe bodies, and the threaded portions have a cross section of a trapezoidal shape with a load flank angle (&agr;) of the threads in the range of 0 to −20 degrees and a stabbing flank angle (&thgr;) thereof in the range of 35 to 50 degrees.
