  • Patent number: 7285051
Abstract: A game system includes a first game machine which operates according to a first architecture and, a second game machine which operates according to a second architecture different from the first architecture and has a processing capability lower than that of the first game machine. A game information storage medium stores, in addition to a first game program executable on the first game machine, a second game program executable on the second game machine and an emulator program that converts the second architecture into the first architecture. When a predetermined condition is satisfied while a first game according to the first game program is being executed on the first game machine, it is possible to execute a second game according to the second game program using the emulator program.

  • Publication number: 20060252548
Abstract: A communication game system includes a plurality of game apparatuses which are able to wirelessly communicate with each other. Each of the game apparatus registers identifying information of an opponent obtained by a short-distance wireless communication or by user's input in a friend list. Thereafter, the game apparatus connects to the Internet, and inquires server, etc. whether or not it is possible to communicate with the opponent in the friend list over a network. If it is possible to communicate, the game apparatus obtains an address of the opponent to make a network communication. In a case that a still another opponent being connected to its own apparatus exists, when other game apparatus makes a connection, its own game apparatus transmits their identifying information to introduce the communicating opponents to each other. The game apparatuses introduced to each other make a communication over a network, and add the identifying information of the opponents to the friend list, if necessary.

  • Publication number: 20050272504
Abstract: A multi-user video game with communications capabilities allows players to communicate with one another via simulated mail, leaflets and conversations. Different installations of the game on different discrete video game playing platforms may be unique or different depending upon random or other data available at the platform. For example, different installations may have different subsets of characters, different landscapes, or the like. Player characters from one virtual environment or village may visit another virtual environment or village and return home to his or her resident environment or village. Non-player characters may move from one virtual environment or village to another—thereby providing an ever-changing variety of characters. Communications between different game playing platforms can be provided via portable memory devices, portable game playing devices, or conventional communications means such as networks.

  • Patent number: 6948083
Abstract: During a sleep mode, if an input made via operation switches matches a resume condition, a portable game apparatus cancels the sleep mode and generates a resume window. Next, a timer which counts down a predetermined length of time is set off, and the resume window is displayed on an LCD. Then, if an instruction from a user instructs a resume from the sleep mode, the resume window is erased, and game data and a game image which existed immediately before entering the sleep mode are restored, and the normal game processing is resumed. On the other hand, if inactivity for the predetermined length or longer with respect to the operation switches is detected, or if an option of not choosing to resume has been selected by the user, the sleep mode is again entered.

  • Patent number: 6596404
Abstract: This invention pertains to a siloxane resin composition comprising R1SiO3/2 siloxane units, R2SiO3/2 siloxane units and (R3O)bSiO(4-b)/2 siloxane units wherein R1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbons, hydrogen, or mixtures thereof; R2 is a monovalent organic group having 6 to 30 carbons; R3 is a branched alkyl group having 3 to 30 carbons, b is from 1 to 3; and the siloxane resin contains from 2.5 to 85 mole percent R1SiO3/2 units, 2.5 to 50 mole percent R2SiO3/2 units and 5 to 95 mole percent (R3O)bSiO(4-b)/2 units. The siloxane resin is useful to make insoluble porous resin and insoluble porous coatings. Heating a substrate coated with the siloxane resin at a sufficient temperature effects removal of the R2 and R3O groups to form an insoluble insoluble porous coating having a porosity of 1 to 60 volume percent and a dielectric constant in the range of 1.5 to 3.0.

  • Publication number: 20030064254
Abstract: This invention pertains to a siloxane resin composition comprising HSiO3/2 siloxane units, and (R2O)bSiO(4-b)/2 siloxane units wherein R2 is independently selected from the group consisting of branched alkyl groups having 3 to 30 carbon atoms and substituted branched alkyl groups having 3 to 30 carbon atoms, b is from 1 to 3. The siloxane resin contains a molar ratio of HSiO3/2 units to (R2O)bSiO(4-b)/2 units of 0.5:99.5 to 99.5. The siloxane resin is useful to make insoluble porous resins and insoluble porous coatings.
