  • Publication number: 20120175421
Abstract: In a non-reading mode, a bar code is detected by irradiating it with a laser beam from a laser source, power consumption of which is reduced, and it is determined whether or not the detected bar code is correct. The mode is changed from the non-reading mode to a reading mode in which the laser source operates at substantially full power if it is determined that the code symbol is correct. The non-reading mode continues if it is determined that the code symbol is not correct. This enables an auto-trigger function that triggers reading of the bar code automatically. Therefore, it is possible to eliminate conventional parts and/or special-purpose circuits for realizing the auto-trigger function so that the optical-information-reading apparatus can be downsized.

  • Publication number: 20070028768
Abstract: Methane or hydrogen are adsorbed by passing the substance through one or more openings provided in a wall part of a carbon-nanohorn aggregate. The carbon-nanohorn aggregate forms a self-locking carbon adsorbent. The substance passes through the one or more openings in one limited direction from the outside to the inside of the carbon nanohorn aggregate in isothermal or isobaric adsorption.

  • Patent number: 6029180
Abstract: In the information presentation apparatus of the present invention, it is possible for the user to effectively present information relative to first information. A memory stores first information including at least one part corresponding to second information. The first information is displayed and the user indicates the part corresponding to the second information in the displayed first information. In response to the indication, a summary of the second information is read from a data file and stored in the memory. The summary is displayed in addition to the first information. Therefore, the user can previously know an outline of the second information.
