  • Method of retrieving and editing distributed information

    Abstract: A method of retrieving and editing distributed information, in which one of a plurality of equipment units connected to a common signal transmission line issues or originates a request to retrieve data information distributed among and stored in respective files of the other equipment units and to edit the distributed data information. The above-mentioned one equipment unit sends to the transmission line a retrieval request message containing retrieval information necessary to retrieve distributed data information. Each of the equipment units storing therein distributed data information receives the retrieval request message from the transmission line, and the files are retrieved on the basis of the retrieval information to retrieve the distributed data information. The data information retrieved in at least a first one of the equipment units storing therein the distributed data information is sent to the transmission line.
