Abstract: A light source unit for an endoscope has a socket to which a plug at the end of a universal code of the endoscope is attached. The socket has a socket body with a recess in which the plug is fitted and socket terminals to which plug terminals are connected. A number of slots opening to the recess are formed in the socket body. The slots extend along the insertion path of the plug terminals and have the socket terminals therein. The socket terminals cannot be directly touched by a finger or the like. When the plug is attached to the socket, the plug terminals come into contact with the socket terminals properly.

Abstract: A light supply apparatus for endoscope, which comprises a lamp provided inside a housing for emitting light, a socket mounted on the housing, a connector of the endoscope being detachably connected to the socket, a detecting section including a LED and a photo-transistor which is provided within the socket so as to face each other and which optically detects the state of coupling between the connector and socket, and a light transmission restricting section for cutting off current supplied to the lamp when the connector is disconnected from the socket.

Abstract: A cleaning apparatus for endoscope is adapted to clean an endoscope with a cleaning liquid such as cleaning water, liquid detergent or the like. A liquid disinfectant circulating mechanism is provided which maintains a liquid disinfectant in circulation between a cleaning vessel and a tank of liquid disinfectant to disinfect the endoscope after the cleaning liquid has been drained. Apparatus is provided for supplying an antifoaming agent to the mechanism for effectively preventing a foaming from occurring in the presence of any residue of detergent.

Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning an endoscope includes a return system for returning used sterilizer a from a drain port of a rinse basin to the reservoir vessel containing the liquid sterilizer medium, via a return tube, which may contain an electromagnetic valve. The apparatus also includes a drain tube for discharging waste liquid through the drain port; the drain tube may include an electromagnetic valve. In this manner, a liquid sterilizer which is discharged from the drain port of the rinse basin may be returned to the reservoir vessel through the return tube, permitting its repeated use as long as the liquid sterilizer remains effective.

Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning an endoscope comprises an upper spray head which is disposed toward the central axis of a rinse vessel, and a lower spray head disposed toward the wall of the rinse vessel. A portion of an endoscope is disposed around the central axis of the rinse vessel, and the spray heads direct a cleaning liquid toward the endoscope portion from above and below in an oblique direction while rotating about the central axis. The spray heads do not have to be removed to place or remove an endoscope portion to be cleaned.

Abstract: A light supply device for endoscope in which a space defined adjacent to a light source section including a socket and a lamp attached thereto communicates with the outside through an opening. At the opening is swingably provided a cover hinge-coupled to the frame of the device at one end, while on the back of the cover is fixed a holder to which a spare lamp for replacement is removably fitted. The spare lamp is contained in the space when the cover is in the close position.
