  • Patent number: 9286080
Abstract: Techniques related to personal computers and devices sharing similar architectures are disclosed. Particularly shown is a system and method for enabling improved performance and security in hypervisor programs and related applications programs achieved through the use of multiple non-volatile memories.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 2, 2008
Date of Patent: March 15, 2016
    Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
    Inventor: Kaushik C. Barde
  • Patent number: 9213567
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment a method of running a virtual machine on a server includes controlling data path resources allocated to the virtual machine using a first supervisory process running on the server, controlling data path resources comprising controlling a data path of a hardware interface device coupled to the server, and controlling control path and initialization resources of the hardware interface device using a second process running on the server, where the second process is separate from the first supervisory process.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 28, 2011
Date of Patent: December 15, 2015
    Assignee: Futurewei Technologies, Inc.
    Inventor: Kaushik C. Barde
  • Patent number: 8843742
Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatuses and program products are disclosed for protecting computers and similar equipment from undesirable occurrences, especially attacks by malware. Invariant information, such as pure code and some data tables may be enrolled for later revalidation by code operating outside the normal context. For example, a periodic interrupt may invoked a system management mode interrupt service routine to discover whether code regions accessible to Protected Mode programs have become corrupted or otherwise changed, such as by tampering from untrusted or untrustworthy programs that have easy access only to protected mode operation.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: September 23, 2014
    Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Company
    Inventor: Kaushik C. Barde
  • Patent number: 8761187
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, a data processing system includes a processor, a memory, and an interface port configured to be coupled to a hardware network interface device. The processor is configured to run a process that maps network switching functions of each of a plurality of virtual machines to the hardware network interface device.

  • Publication number: 20030134260
Abstract: A telecommunication control system for an interactive instruction network system is provided. The control system includes a presenter software interface displaying communication signals in a host compatible software language. A presentation server modifies the communication signals by performing a plurality of presenter chosen tasks via the presenter software interface. Two or more bi-directional client adapters convert communication signals between said host compatible software language and two or more heterogeneous client type compatible software languages. One or more Internet data adapter(s) direct the communication signals between the presenter software interface and the two or more heterogeneous client types via one or more Internet protocols. A method for performing the same is also provided as well as an interactive instruction network system and method.
