The program and method provide for displaying a capture user interface in accordance with a camera mode configured to capture multiple video clips for combining to generate a media content item; capturing the multiple video clips based on first user input received via the capture user interface, which includes a preview button selectable to navigate to a preview user interface for previewing and editing the multiple video clips; receiving, via the capture user interface, second user input selecting the preview button; and displaying, in response to the receiving, the preview user interface with a preview bar including a respective thumbnail for each of the multiple video clips, the preview bar being selectable to individually trim one or more of the multiple video clips.

The system and method present, by a messaging application, in a scrollable region on top of a live video feed being displayed in a GUI comprising a viewfinder, a first plurality of options associated with previously captured content items and a second plurality of options associated with AR experiences. The system and method scrolls the first plurality of options together with the second plurality of options of the scrollable region to bring one of the first plurality of options or one of the second plurality of options into focus. In response, the system and method: modify a configuration of the GUI in accordance with a first manner or modify the configuration of the GUI in accordance with a second manner.

The system and method perform operations comprising displaying, by a messaging application in a viewfinder, a live video feed received from a camera of a client device.
