  • Patent number: 4668179
Abstract: An oil burner of the wick ignition type is disclosed which is capable of effectively preventing the generation of bad odor due to unburned fuel oil gas after the fire-extinguishing operation as well as during the operation. The oil burner includes an air pumping mechanism. The mechanism comprises an air pumping means which is adapted to discharge air to a combustion cylinder construction when it is heated and suck air thereinto from the combustion cylinder construction when it is cooled and an air chamber arranged between the pumping means and the combustion cylinder construction so as to be communicated with the both. The air pumping means may comprise a rigid closed vessel formed of a heat transfer material and arranged to receive heat directly from the combustion cylinder construction.

  • Patent number: 4619603
Abstract: A combustion cylinder construction for an oil burner is disclosed which is adapted to adjust combustion while preventing the adhesion of soot, moisture and the like on the inner surface of a heat-permeable cylinder to keep it clean during combustion. The combustion cylinder construction includes a first heat-permeable cylinder and a second heat-permeable cylinder supported on the first heat-permeable cylinder with a gap being defined therebetween which serves to introduce air from the exterior therethrough to the overall inner surface of the second heat-permeable cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4614493
Abstract: An oil burner of the heat radiation type is disclosed which is capable of effectively preventing clouding of the inner surface of a heat-permeable cylinder with moisture, contaminants contained in combustion gas such as soot and tar, and the like during at the ignition and combustion operation. The oil burner includes a communicating means for establishing the communication between an air supply passage and a space between a heat-permeable cylinder and an outer combustion cylinder, which comprises a top plate for a pot having through-holes formed at the portion thereof above the air supply passage and a top plate for a housing having through-holes formed at the portion below the space, to thereby allow air to be introduced directly from the air supply passage to the space and upward flow along the inner surface of the heat-permeable cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4611574
Abstract: A protective guard for an oil burner is disclosed which is capable of compactly packing and storing an oil burner while having the protective guard attached thereto. The protective guard comprises a lower guard body fixedly mounted on the oil burner, an upper guard body fitted on the lower guard body and vertically moved with respect to the lower guard body, and a fixing means for releasably fixing the upper guard body to the lower guard body and allowing the upper guard body to be vertically moved with respect to the lower guard body and put on the lower guard body when the fixing means is released.

  • Patent number: 4610239
Abstract: A cartridge-type oil tank construction is disclosed which is capable of effectively preventing oil leakage from the construction even when the construction falls down in any direction. The oil tank construction includes a stationary tank, an integrally formed tank supporting means arranged near one side end of the stationary tank to dispose a cartridge tank therethrough on the stationary tank, and a combination of a projection and a cutout which serves to allow an oil supply port of the tank supporting means to constantly face the other side end of the stationary tank opposite to the one side end thereof.

  • Patent number: 4608010
Abstract: A device for adjusting the vertical position of a wick for an oil burner is disclosed which is capable of effectively and positively keeps the combustion position of the wick within a range of constantly attaining the normal combustion of the oil burner. The wick adjusting device includes a circular member fitted on a wick operating shaft and received in a slidable knob to be moved with the knob. The circular member is formed with a slot in which a pin-like projection of a gear is movably fitted and with which the projection is engaged at the minimum combustion position to prevent the knob from being further rotated in the fire-extinguishing direction during the combustion operation.
