  • Patent number: 5125707
Abstract: A rotary load lifting hook device according to the present invention incorporates a remotely operable rotational driving device 11 provided on a hook block 20 on which a load lifting hook 1 is positioned vertically for rotation. The rotational driving device 11 and the hook block 20 are connected to each other by means of chain wheels 12, 13 provided respectively thereon. An endless chain 14 is held in meshing engagement with the chain wheels 12, 13 so that the hook block 20 may be driven to rotate by remote operation. Rocking motion, oscillations and so forth which take place with the load lifting hook 1 when a load is lifted may be absorbed by the endless chain 14 such that the load lifting hook 1 can be rotated with safety and with cetainty without causing overstrain with the rotational driving device 11 and the load lifting hook 1.

  • Patent number: 5037151
Abstract: In a lifting sling for lifting up at least one elongated article, a pair of wire rope units depend respectively from a pair of hooking units which are arranged respectively at opposite ends of the elongated article. A pair of guide arm units each having one end pivotally attached to the elongated beam respectively adjacent to the opposite ends thereof accommodate and support respectively the pair of wire rope units. A pair of actuator units each has one end pivotally attached to the elongated beam and the other end pivotally attached respectively to the pair of guide arm units. The pair of actuator units respectively move the pair of guide arm units toward and away from each other about their corresponding ends. A controller is connected to the pair of actuator units for operating the same to move the pair of guide arm units toward and away from each other.

  • Patent number: 4658882
Abstract: Machine for direct rolling of a steel casting from the continuous casting process and producing a steel product therefrom characterized in that the continuous casting machine is provided with an air-water mist cooling means having a selective cooling function and a heat-retention means, and a quick heating means for the edge portions of the steel casting if necessary, and a scale breaker are installed at the inlet of a rough rolling stand, whereby direct rolling without further surface treatment of the steel casting is made feasible.

  • Patent number: 4462456
Abstract: A transport apparatus comprising a plurality of metal rolls for transporting a hot heavy material is disclosed. Each roll is provided with a desired number of ring-like circumferential grooves which are filled with a heat insulating material, and the grooves of each roll are staggered with respect to the grooves of the adjacent rolls. In accordance with the present invention, the temperature drop of the hot heavy material during the transportation can be greatly reduced, and in addition, the temperature fluctuation in both the sectional direction and the longitudinal direction of the hot heavy material is sharply decreased. The invention contributes considerably to the realization of the direct rolling process on an industrial scale.

  • Patent number: 4424855
Abstract: In the equipment for continuous casting of steel, an improved method for cooling a continuous cast slab or the like by which a hot slab can be transferred directly to a rolling step. In accordance with the improved method, the continuous cast slab is subjected to indirect cooling by means of cooling a series of guide rolls with a gas-liquid mist, or if the equipment length is limited, the slab is subjected to direct cooling by means of a gas-liquid mist cooling step, and then to the indirect cooling step in a subsequent process.

  • Patent number: 4420029
Abstract: An apparatus for blocking escaped heat in hot slabs manufactured on a continuous-casting machine. The apparatus has a heat containing cover extending in the longitudinal direction of the slab on both sides of the withdrawal guide rolls. The upper and lower portions of the heat containing cover each have a semi-circular cut to receive the lower part of a top guide roll and the upper part of a bottom guide roll. The heat containing cover can be reciprocated in the direction of the axis of the guide rolls so that a desired clearance is left between the cover and the edges of the slab.
