  • Publication number: 20060234925
Abstract: For a pregnancy to be established, communication between conceptus and mother, and implantation of the conceptus on the uterine wall must occur. If a factor mediating the communication between conceptus and mother is investigated and the factor can be used to control the communication, it may be possible to develop a method for treating a disorder such as sterility or preventive measures. Contraception in a safe manner may also be provided. IP-10, which is known as a protein of 10 kDa usually induced by interferon-? is identified as a factor that controls implantation of conceptus on the uterine wall through involving immune responses and activation of conceptus migration during an implantation period, the promotion of implantation of conceptus to the uterine wall, and chemotactic activity. Based on these finding, an agent for treating sterility, promoting pregnancy, inducing implantation of conceptus on the uterine wall, or controlling interaction between conceptus and mother is provided.

  • Patent number: 5738845
Abstract: The present invention describes the production of interferon-.tau. proteins and polypeptides derived therefrom. The antiviral and anticellular proliferation properties of these proteins and polypeptides are disclosed. One advantage of the proteins of the present invention is that they do not have cytotoxic side-effects when used to treat cells. Structure/function relationships for the interferon-.tau. protein are also described. In one aspect, the invention includes ovine interferon-.tau.. In another aspect the invention includes multiple forms of human interferon-.tau..
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 31, 1995
Date of Patent: April 14, 1998
    Assignee: The Women's Research Institute

  • Patent number: 4686060
Abstract: Detergent compositions comprising surfactant, at least one detergency builder, and a plurality of rinse cycle suds control prills comprising fatty acid soap, quaternary ammonium salt, and silicone fluid suds suppressor. The granular detergent compositions of this invention provide control of the level of suds on the surface of the water during the rinse cycle without interfering with the level of suds on the surface of the water during the wash cycle of laundering operations.

  • Patent number: 4637890
Abstract: Detergent compositions comprising surfactant, at least one soluble detergency builder, and a plurality of rinse cycle suds control prills comprising fatty acid soap, quaternary ammonium salt, and silicone fluid suds suppressor. The granular detergent compositions of this invention provide control of the level of suds on the surface of the water and reduce the turbidity of the water during the rinse cycle without interfering with the level of suds on the surface of the water during the wash cycle of laundering operations.
