  • Patent number: 7285913
Abstract: A plasma display device is provided in which deterioration in brightness of phosphor layers can be avoided. The plasma display device includes a plasma display panel in which a plurality of discharge cells in one color or in a plurality of colors are arranged and phosphor layers are arranged so as to correspond to the discharge cells in colors and in which light is emitted by exciting the phosphor layers with ultraviolet rays. The phosphor layers include blue phosphor, the blue phosphor being composed of an alkaline-earth metal aluminate phosphor containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of Mo and W. The addition of hexavalent ions (Mo, W) in the blue phosphor allows the elimination of oxygen defects in the vicinity of a layer containing Ba atoms (Ba—O layer), the suppression of adsorption of water to the surface of the blue phosphor and the improvement of deterioration in brightness and a change in chromaticity for the respective phosphors and discharge characteristics.

  • Patent number: 7280150
Abstract: A video camera (10) includes a photographing device (16). The photographing device (16) generates an image signal corresponding to an optical image irradiated on a light-receiving surface, and a monitor (34) displays a moving image based on a generated image signal. An amount of incident light into the photographing device (16) is controlled by an aperture apparatus (14) having an aperture blade that moves to a direction perpendicular to a light axis. A moving amount of the aperture blade is restricted by a predetermined value, and this defines a minimum value of an F number. When the moving image is displayed on the monitor (34), it is prohibited to set to the minimum value of the F number.

  • Patent number: 7232530
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a plasma display device which prevents the brightness of a phosphor layer from lowering is disclosed, and the method can form the phosphor layer in a stable manner because a nozzle is free from clogging. At least one of the phosphor layers has a green phosphor layer containing green phosphor having zero or positive charges and a crystal structure of Zn2SiO4:Mn. Green phosphor ink, whose major ingredient is the green phosphor, is applied through the nozzle to discharging cells, thereby forming the green phosphor layer. The green phosphor ink is formed of green phosphor powder coated with an oxide having positive charges, or the ink is formed by crushing the green phosphor powder originally having negative charges and a crystal structure of Zn2SiO4:Mn such that the powder changes to have positive charges.

  • Patent number: 7204939
Abstract: The present invention aims to inhibit water adsorption onto the surface of a blue phosphor(blue fluorescent material), decrease luminance degradation and chromaticity shift of a phosphor, or improve discharge characteristics thereof. Used in a phosphor for a plasma display is a blue phosphor in which trivalent Eu ions substitute for part of divalent Eu ions. This substitution eliminates oxygen vacancy in the vicinity of layers containing Ba atoms (Ba—O layers) in the blue phosphor, and thus inhibits water adsorption onto the surface of the blue phosphor, decreases luminance degradation and chromaticity shift of the phosphor, or improves discharge characteristics thereof.
