  • Patent number: 4463964
Abstract: A rear suspension system for motor vehicles. Both leg ends of a gate-shaped swing arm which at its free end supports the central part of a rear axle are pivotably secured to a vehicle body frame, a tension rod is provided between the lower end of a downwardly extending swing link mounted near the free end of the swing arm and a portion of the vehicle body frame near and below the above pivoted point of the swing arm, and one end of a damper disposed between both legs of the swing arm in a position above the tension rod is mounted near and above the pivoted point of the swing arm, while the other end thereof is attached to the swing link. The rear suspension system can be mounted in a relatively narrow space, and even with devices of relatively large capacities mounted thereabout, it can exhibit its damping characteristics satisfactorily.

  • Patent number: 4332310
Abstract: A device for preventing intrusion of water, dust, etc. into drum brake of an automotive vehicle, wherein a labyrinth is formed at a fitting portion between the outer peripheral surface of a brake panel fixed to the vehicle body and the outer peripheral surface of a brake drum rotatable together with wheels, and wherein the labyrinthine grooves are made larger as they go toward inside, and the edges of the partition walls and the brake panel of the brake drum forming the labyrinth are bent outward for effective prevention of the dust, etc. from entering into the brake drum.

  • Patent number: 4194587
Abstract: An arrangement for indicator meters for automobiles, in which a speed meter and a tachometer are coaxially arranged in a front-and-back positional relationship in the lengthwise direction of the vehicle body so that they may be more readily observed with the least movement of eyes as well as from one and same direction. Also disclosed is an arrangement for the warning indicator devices, in which such warning indicators as turning directions, operating conditions of brakes, dynamo, and so forth are arranged in vacant space around dial plates for the speed meter and tachometer, and such warning indicator devices are accommodated in a cavity formed on the top raised portion of a steering handle column cover.

  • Patent number: 4194155
Abstract: A portion of the instrument panel which is adjacent to the steering wheel is protruded and in which portion a radio receiving device is fitted which includes station-number and frequency indicator means and control means for station selection and frequency adjustment. The indicator means are arranged in the front face of the protruded panel portion so as to enable the driver readily to take the indicator readings without the need of shifting his line of sight to any substantial extent. The control means are arranged in the protruded panel portion sidewise thereof, including, among others, a single control knob arranged in a position to be readily reached by the driver's hand for controlling operation.
