  • Patent number: 6513983
Abstract: A ball bearing comprises an inner ring, an outer ring and a plurality of balls disposed between inner and outer rings. The number of the balls is made to be not smaller than 10. Lubricant is also enclosed between the inner and outer rings in such a manner that the amount of the lubricant is regulated not more than 8% of the volume of a space between the inner and outer rings.

  • Patent number: 6264368
Abstract: A fluid bearing motor having sufficient room for securing an air chamber for use in quickly discharging bubbles that have entered a thrust fluid bearing and a reservoir for supplying a lubricating fluid to the thrust fluid bearing. Moreover, the fluid bearing motor can easily be fabricated. The fluid bearing motor includes a shaft member 1, a sleeve 2 cooperating with the shaft member and a thrust collar 3 which is fixed to the shaft member 1 and extended in the diametric direction. The circumferentially-directed contour of the outer peripheral face of the thrust collar 3 is made elliptic, so that a reservoir 8 and an air chamber 9 are formed between the outer peripheral face of the thrust collar 3 and the face 4a of the mating member (sleeve).

  • Patent number: 6172847
Abstract: A disc drive device includes a rotational assembly which is adapted to mount a disc thereon and is rotatably driven by a motor. The rotational assembly is rotatably supported on a support assembly by a radial hydrodynamic fluid bearing and a thrust bearing. An axial load is applied to the thrust bearing by a magnetic attractive force of up to 30N and is greater than a dead weight of the rotational assembly.

  • Patent number: 5882122
Abstract: A rolling bearing having a plurality of rolling elements interposed between an inner race and an outer race, wherein the number of the rolling elements is selected to be equal to a number having, as divisors, main low-frequency peak components of geometrical error of the inner and outer races to be assembled.

  • Patent number: 5844169
Abstract: A protector for accommodating cables therein is provided with an elongated tubular body (1;101;201;301) having at least one weakened wall portion (5;105;205;305) which allows the body (1;101;201;301) to be deformed on impact, thereby releasing the cables to protect them from damage and preventing occurrence of a short circuit in an accident.

  • Patent number: 5701634
Abstract: A grommet (1) is provided for sealing an opening in a panel, through which at least one cable passes, comprising a tapered hollow body which sealingly engages the cable at least at a first end (10) and the edge of the opening via a groove (30) formed on a second end (20), wherein at least one means for reducing stiffness, in particular a recess (12, 14, 16) is provided on an inner surface (5) and/or on an outer surface (6) of the hollow body, so that elastic deformation of the grommet (1), in particular of its second end (2) is facilitated.

  • Patent number: 5256213
Abstract: In order to produce bearing steels of long life and high reliability with a higher probability by utilizing parameters for cleanness evaluation that are related to the shortest life of bearings, in the present invention, the logarithmic decrease in the cumulative size distribution of oxide-type nonmetallic inclusions and the estimated maximum diameter of inclusion particles present per unit volume or unit area are determined from the particle size distribution of the oxide-type nonmetallic inclusions, and the cleanness of interest is specified on the basis of said logarithmic decrease or said estimated maximum inclusion diameter.

  • Patent number: 4930909
Abstract: A rolling bearing having an inner ring, outer ring and rolling element, at least one of these elements being made of one of the following first, second or third medium-carbon manganese steels. The first medium-carbon manganese steel includes C: 0.4 to 0.7 wt. %, Si: 0.15 to 1.2 wt. %, Mn: 1.2 to 1.7 wt. %, Al: 200 to 300 ppm, Ti: up to 40 ppm, N: 100 to 200 ppm, S: up to 80 ppm, O: 9 ppm and the balance of Fe. The second steel includes at least one of Nb: 0.03 to 0.08 wt. % and V: 0.1 to 0.15 wt. % in addition to the elements of the first medium-carbon manganese steel. The third medium-carbon manganese steel includes at least one of Nb: 0.03 to 0.08 wt. % and V: 0.1 to 0.15 wt. % instead of Al and N and includes the other elements of the first medium-carbon manganese steel. Each medium-carbon manganese steel is subject to carburizing or carbo-nitriding so as to include a case with a 25 to 45 vol. % retained austenite.
