  • Patent number: 6749915
Abstract: A labeled resin bottle containing a resin bottle and one or more labels placed thereon and fused therewith, wherein said resin bottle has a value of W/(V⅔) within a range from 0.1 to 0.5 m, wherein W is a base weight, and V is a fill-in volume, provided that when the value is 0.1 or larger and smaller than 0.3, the bottle has a major thick layer consisting of a polyolefinic resin having a stiffness of 5,000 kgf/cm2 or below, and wherein said label has a tensile elastic modulus of 5,000 to 30,000 kgf/cm2. The labeled resin bottle is capable of withstanding reduced bottle strength while thinning the resin bottle and reducing the amount of source resins used therefor.

  • Patent number: 6080827
Abstract: An ethylene polymer, which is an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and an .alpha.-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, having the following properties:(1) the melt index (MI) at a temperature of 190.degree. C. under a load of 21.6 kg is in the range of 0.1 to 100 g/10 min;(2) the density is in the range of 0.935 to 0.975 g/cm.sup.3 ; and(3) the characteristic value of biaxial extensional flow, .lambda.MAX (.lambda.MAX herein is an index of the extension ratio at which the nominal stress is maximum, provided that the extension ratio is in the range of 1 to 3, experimentally obtainable by a biaxial extensional flow test carried out at 190.degree. C. at a constant strain rate d.epsilon./dt of 0.05 s.sup.-1), is at least 1.6.

  • Patent number: 5443874
Abstract: A hollow multi-layer molding made of a multi-layer laminate material, the multi-layer laminate material having: a polyethylene layer; a barrier layer made of a substance selected from the group consisting of polyamide resins, saponified derivatives of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, thermoplastic polyesters, and a mixture of at least two of the polyamide resin, the saponified derivative and the thermoplastic polyesters; and an adhesive layer made of a modified polyolefin resin, the polyethylene layer and the barrier layer being laminated to each other with the adhesive layer sandwiched therebetween. The polyethylene layer is made of a high-molecular-weight polyethylene which is obtained by using a specific chrome catalyst and a reducing agent, and which has a high-load melt flow rate (at a temperature of 190.degree. C. under a load of 21.6 kg) of 1 to 10 g/10 min., and a density of not less than 0.935 g/cm.sup.3.
