  • Patent number: 7038992
Abstract: A method of forming a mask pattern includes a formatting step for formatting authoring data in accordance with formats of specified media either by a fixed amount at a time or continuously. The authoring data is obtained by an authoring operation in which base information, such as image information or audio information, is edited. The method of forming a mask pattern also includes a mask pattern generating step in which basic pattern information is generated from basic signal pattern data necessary for various types of optical disks as a result of carrying out a pattern editing operation, and the basic pattern information is used to generate a mask pattern by carrying out a mask pattern generating operation. In the steps of a conventional method, it is necessary to carefully determine the conditions which allow disks produced after a plurality of later operations of the method have been carried out to satisfy standards.

  • Publication number: 20060071388
Abstract: In a recording material guiding device, a second guide member 606 is comprised of a hopper swinging surface 23c, an edge guide member 25 including a second side end guide member 25a, and a liftup preventing guide 251. The hopper swinging surface 23c is engaged in an opening provided in a side surface of a reference end guide 24 serving as a first guide member 603. The second guide member 606 can be slid in a main scanning direction with respect to the reference end guide 24 (first guide member 603). During recording a gap d1 can be formed between the second side end guide member 25a and a side end Pa of the recording paper P by sliding the second side end guide member 25a from a first position 604 to a second position 605, so that frictional contact can be prevented at the side end Pa of the recording paper P on the second side end guide member side.

Abstract: A feeding tray supports a plurality of media the media thereon. A hopper is provided on the feeding tray so as to be movable in a first direction for pushing the media toward a feeding roller so that a top one of the media comes in contact with the feeding roller, and in a second direction opposite to the first direction. A separator separates a first group including at least one of the media which is situated under the top one of the media from the top one, so that only the top one is fed to the downstream section by rotation of the feeding roller. A returning lever is pivotable interlockingly with the feeding roller and adapted to return a second group including at least one of the media in the first group, which has been proceeded from a prescribed position to the downstream section together with the top one of the media, to the feeding tray. • Publication number: 20050195466
Abstract: The hinge (13) should preferably be formed to have a higher resistance than ever against the pivoting of the mirror body (12) to effectively prevent the hinge (13) from being damaged. By adopting a suitable one of a variety of production steps as necessary, the hinge (13) can be formed more finely and with a higher precision and thus the micro mirror unit can be produced more easily in a shorter time. To this end, the hinge (13) is formed from a different material, such as SiNX, from the mirror substrate material from which the frame (11) and mirror body (12) are formed.

  • Publication number: 20030121644
Abstract: A heat mass transport device, utilizing microchannels and micropumps, achieving a thinner form and offers a higher thermal conductance. The heat mass transport device (1) has a structure in which the microchannels for passing through a coolant and the micropumps for transporting the coolant form a single unit. For example, a channel layer (2), in which the microchannels (2a) are formed, and a pump layer (4), in which the micropumps (4a) are formed, may be laminated in a multi-layer structure, or a large number of single units in which a microchannel and a micropump are combined, may be placed in an array. Moreover, the heat mass transport device is made flexible, as the microchannels and micropumps are formed on a resin substrate utilizing flexible material.

  • Patent number: 6552991
Abstract: In a micro mirror apparatus pivoting on a hinge part as its axis, a movable part connected to a stationary part through the hinge part enhances exclusively the flexural rigidity of the hinge part without causing any significant change in the torsional rigidity of the hinge part and thus widens servo band. To this end, on at least a part of the hinge part 14, a protrusion 14b protruding in the direction of its thickness is formed. This greatly increases the flexural rigidity of the hinge part 14 and widens the servo band.

  • Patent number: 6549694
Abstract: To provide a small and lightweight optical switching element with a simple structure capable of fast response, and an optical switching apparatus employing the optical switching element. Optical extraction unit contacts an upper substrate with electrostatic attraction generated between a transparent electrode of the optical extraction unit and a transparent electrode of the upper substrate. In the case that light enters one V-shaped trench of the upper substrate vertically, the light enters the optical extraction unit of the upper substrate and is emitted from a back of the optical extraction unit (a tapered unit). Subsequently, the incident light P1 passes through a lower substrate and is converted into transmission light. With electrostatic attraction generated between a transparent electrode of the lower substrate and a transparent electrode of the optical extraction unit, the optical extraction unit is attracted to a lower substrate side.

  • Patent number: 6522092
Abstract: A structure in which first to third diodes cause signal beams which are produced by modulating image signals to be incident upon corresponding first to third light deflection scanning sections. The first to third light deflection scanning sections perform line scanning operations using the incident light signal beams. First to third light amplifiers amplify the light signal beams used for the line scanning to necessary brightnesses. A light-wave synthesizer synthesizes the amplified light signal beams into one light beam. A light post scanning section performs frame scanning using the synthesized light beam in order to project it onto a screen. Accordingly, it is possible to display a highly bright image at a low cost on a large screen that realizes high definition and color reproducibility.
