A storage configuration optimization device for managing a storage system including one or more storages implemented by a plurality of SDS nodes includes a virtual CPU. The virtual CPU is configured to receive a request for an execution period and a necessary performance of a project using the storage system, and select, based on consumption information and performance information of a resource of the storage system, one or more change patterns satisfying the request for the execution period and the necessary performance from among a plurality of change patterns indicating configuration changes of the storage system.

Abstract: An object of the invention is to quickly and appropriately adjust performance of a storage system. Provided is a storage management system including: a storage system including a plurality of storage nodes; and a management device. The storage node includes a storage device and an instance to which a resource is virtually allocated and that controls access to the storage device. The storage management system further includes an instance management node configured to manage the instance of the storage node. The management device is configured to determine whether a configuration of the resource allocated to the instance of the storage node needs to be changed, and cause the instance management node to change the configuration of the resource allocated to the instance when the configuration of the resource needs to be changed.

Abstract: Dump data of a memory is allowed to be easily and appropriately managed. In a storage apparatus including a CPU, a DRAM, and a drive, the CPU executes storage processing to store data of the DRAM to be stored into the drive as dump data upon a failure occurrence in the storage apparatus. The CPU deduplicates the dump data in the storage processing or after storing the dump data into the drive. The CPU may execute deduplication processing between the dump data and other dump data stored in the drive or may execute deduplication processing within the data to be stored.

Abstract: Dump data of a memory is allowed to be easily and appropriately managed. In a storage apparatus including a CPU, a DRAM, and a drive, the CPU executes storage processing to store data of the DRAM to be stored into the drive as dump data upon a failure occurrence in the storage apparatus. The CPU deduplicates the dump data in the storage processing or after storing the dump data into the drive. The CPU may execute deduplication processing between the dump data and other dump data stored in the drive or may execute deduplication processing within the data to be stored.
