  • Patent number: 6831657
Abstract: Musical sound signal is input to an electronic volume control unit, which in turn adjusts the gain of the input musical signal and outputs the resultant gain-adjusted signal to an amplifier. CPU supplies the electronic volume control unit with a sound volume setting level corresponding to an output of a rotary encoder. At the same time, the CPU generates, with reference to stored data of a ROM table, a hue control signal for changing a displaying hue of a three-color light-emitting diode in accordance with the sound volume setting level supplied by the CPU. The CPU takes in a current sound volume setting level when an upper-limit setting switch is activated, and it retains the taken-in level as an upper limit value of various sound volume setting levels that are to be used to change the displaying hue of the light-emitting diode between purple and red hues. As the sound volume setting level is changed from zero to the upper limit value, the displaying hue changes in a stepwise manner.

  • Patent number: 4959739
Abstract: A magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus for use with a tape cassette. A pair of tape loading posts are moved respectively by first and second drive gears to draw a portion of a magnetic tape out of the tape cassette to wrap the magnetic tape portion about a head drum. The tape loading posts are drivingly connected respectively to the first and second drive gears through respective lost-motion mechanisms such that subsequent angular movements of the respective first and second drive gears after movement of the tape loading posts to their respective tape loading positions are prevented from being transmitted respectively to the tape loading posts. The first drive gear is provided in its outer periphery with a cut-out. A tape loading gear is in facing relation to the cut-out in the first drive gear until the tape cassette moves to its loading position.

  • Patent number: 4959742
Abstract: A rotary head mounting device for mounting a rotary head obliquely on a chassis includes one or more oblique bases formed by outsert forming on the chassis. Each of the oblique bases has a mounting surface which is oblique to the chassis for mounting a rotary head thereon and a mounting hole for receiving a screw for fixing the rotary head which mounting hole is formed from the mounting surface into the oblique base vertically with respect to the mounting surface. The rotary head is fixed in its mounting portion to the mounting surface of the oblique bases by screwing the screw into each mounting hole through the mounting portion. The rotary head can be directly mounted on the oblique bases on the chassis without using a separate adaptor so that mounting of the rotary head on the chassis is facilitated. Besides, the mounting device can be made very simply and cheaply by outsert forming the mounting device simultaneously with outsert forming other parts on the chassis.

  • Patent number: 4527206
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the transport of a magnetic tape in a tape recorder or like devices, arranged so that a braking force is applied only for a predetermined length of time to reel stands carrying tape reels either when the tape transport is to be stopped or when a speed of the tape transport is to be reduced to thereby mitigate the consumption of electric power required for the braking action, the apparatus also eliminates the provision of a special operation for stopping the transport of the magnetic tape which, otherwise, is required for switching from high-speed run to normal-speed run of the tape.

  • Patent number: 4159495
Abstract: A cassette tape recorder that incorporates an opening and closing device for a cassette holder or the like. The opening and closing device comprises a rotating member which is rotated in accordance with opening and closing operations of the cassette holder so as to lock the holder in its closed state and to give a damping effect on the opening movement of the holder. The force for opening the cassette holder as well as the force for holding the same in the closed state is provided by the actuating force of a single actuator.
