Abstract: A system and apparatus for encouraging viewing of broadcast contents. When a mail receiving terminal receives e-mail including a message that a CM by an advertiser will be broadcasted from a mail server, a program record button (64), a program view button (65), a CM record button (66) and a CM view button (67) as well as the message that the CM by the advertiser will be broadcasted are displayed on a mailer screen (50). The mail also includes program information such as the program start date and time, the program finish date and time, the CM start date and time, the CM finish date and time and the broadcast channel. When the CM record button (66) is clicked, a CM recording reservation signal is transmitted to a VCR in accordance with the program information through the infrared interface of the mail receiving terminal.
