  • Patent number: 11188012
Abstract: With stoppage of recording material feeding including a first belt and a second belt (YES in S1), a controller causes cooling operation for the recording material by a cooling fan and a belt fan to continue without stop (S4). By continuing the cooling operation of a recording material cooling device, even if the recording material stagnates in the recording material cooling device in a state of being nipped by the first belt and the second belt, the temperature of the recording material can be lowered. Then, the toner on the recording material is cooled, the toner on the recording material is unlikely to adhere to the first belt or to the second belt.

  • Patent number: 11175613
Abstract: An external cooling device 101 is connectable to an image forming apparatus 100. The external cooling device 101 improves cooling power of a recording material S after toner image fixation. In this case, even when a heating amount of the fixing device 11 is increased, a temperature of the recording material S stacked on a stacking unit 60 can be lowered to not more than a predetermined temperature at which sticking does not occur. Further, the number of sheets stackable on said stacking unit 60 can be increased. By this, a user is capable of adjusting glossiness without concern for the sticking of the recording materials S on the stacking unit 60. Further, the user is not required to frequently carry out the recording material S of the stacking unit 60. That is, it is possible to provide an image forming system 1X capable of flexibly meeting the recording materials S of various kinds.

  • Patent number: 10969738
Abstract: To improve heat dissipation efficiency by a heat dissipating portion relative to a heat receiving portion contacting an inner peripheral surface of belts while effectively utilizing spaces in the belts forming a nip in which a recording material is cooled, where heat sinks 53 and 54 are disposed on and under upper and lower belts 51 and 52, heat absorbing portions 53a and 53b (contact portions with the belts) are provided by being shifted in a sheet feeding direction so as not to contact each other through the belts, but heat discharging portions 53c, 53d, 54c, and 54d are disposed in an extended manner so as to overlap with the heat absorbing portions on opposite sides. Thus, it becomes possible to enhance heat dissipation efficiency in spaces in limited belt cross sections, and to meet downsizing and speed-up of the device.
