  • Patent number: 7560145
Abstract: The invention aims at a curing agent, curable compositions or compositions for optical materials, capable of providing for cured artifacts having laudable heat resistance, optical transparency, and light resistance; optical materials and methods for their production; and liquid crystal displays and LED's made by using the materials. A curing agent, which comprises at least two SiH groups, is obtainable by subjecting an aliphatic organic compound (?1) and an acyclic and/or cyclic polyorganosiloxane (?1) to hydrosilylation reaction. The curing agent is also obtainable by subjecting an organic compound (?2) and a cyclic polyorganosiloxane (?2) to hydrosilylation reaction.

  • Patent number: 7470457
Abstract: A curable composition comprising: component (A), which is an aliphatic organic compound including at least two carbon-carbon double bonds within one molecule, the at least two carbon-carbon double bonds having reactivity with an SiH group; component (B), which is a compound including at least two SiH groups within one molecule; and component (C), which is a hydrosilylation catalyst. The curable composition can be made into an optical material by being previously mixed so as to allow the carbon-carbon double bonds having reactivity with an SiH group to react with some or all of the SiH groups in the composition, thereby causing curing. There is provided a curable composition having a high heat-resistance, a low birefringence, a small coefficient of photoelasticity, a high optical transparency, and toughness; an optical material; a method for producing the same; and a liquid crystal display device incorporating the same.

  • Patent number: 7361432
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a hologram recording material composition comprising a radical polymerizable compound being solid at an ordinary temperature and having a 9,9-diarylflourene skeleton, a polymeric binder and a plasticizer, the composition being excellent in transparency and diffraction efficiency, which are characteristics required for a hologram. The hologram recording material composition comprises a thermoplastic resin (A) which is soluble in a solvent, a radical polymerizable compound (B) which is solid at an ordinary temperature and at ordinary pressure and has the 9,9-diarylfluorene skeleton and at least one radical polymerizable unsaturated double bond, a plasticizer (C) and a photopolymerization initiator (D). A weight percentage ratio of the thermoplastic resin (A), the radical polymerizable compound (B) and the plasticizer (C), (A):(B):(C) is 10 to 80:10 to 80:10 to 80.

  • Patent number: 6815478
Abstract: The present invention provides a chlorine-containing polymer vulcanizing composition with improved preservation stability. The present invention is a chlorine-containing polymer vulcanizing composition obtained by blending (a) a zeolite compound, (b) a vulcanizing agent, and (c) an optional organic vulcanization accelerator. The zeolite compound can be natural zeolite, an A-type, X-type, or Y-type synthetic zeolite, a sodalite, natural or synthetic mordenite, ZSM-5, or a metal substitution product thereof. The zeolite compound is preferably an activated zeolite compound. With respect to 100 parts by weight of chlorinated polyethylene, (a) preferably 0.5 to 30 parts by weight, more preferably 5 to 25 parts by weight, of the zeolite compound, (b) preferably 0.1 to 5 parts by weight, more preferably 0.5 to 3 parts by weight, of the vulcanizing agent, and (c) preferably 0.5 to 3 mol, more preferably 0.7 to 1.5 mol, of the vulcanization accelerator with respect to 1 mol of (b) the vulcanizing agent are blended.
