  • Publication number: 20090147393
Abstract: A storage apparatus includes plural trays each incorporating plural HDDs and a controller that controls access to the HDDs in response to an access request from a host apparatus. The controller also includes a table, in which standard power and a start-up power supply status are associated with each other for each of the trays, a table that manages total power required by the trays and present power consumed by the trays, and a table that defines maximum available power relative to the total power. The controller, when receiving a power-on setting request for a certain tray, judges whether or not the tray can be turned on based on the standard power for the tray and the present power, and the controller, upon determining that the tray can be turned on, turns on the tray.

  • Publication number: 20090086890
Abstract: A radiation image capturing apparatus includes a conductive gel member disposed between a radiation detector and an integrated circuit provided in vicinity of the radiation detector and electrically connected thereto. The conductive gel member blocks the electromagnetic noise generated by the integrated circuit and thereby prevents the electromagnetic noise from propagating to the radiation detector. As a result, the electrical signals generated by the radiation detector are prevented from being affected by the electromagnetic noise and high-quality radiation images can be acquired.

  • Publication number: 20090080620
Abstract: A radiation image capturing apparatus includes a cooling mechanism for causing cooling medium to flow from a rear surface side to a radiation detector to a front surface side of radiation detector through a narrow space formed between an end of the radiation detector and a casing for housing the radiation detector. • Publication number: 20090080606
Abstract: A radiation image capturing apparatus includes a housing for housing a radiation detector. The housing has a wall inclined with respect to a detection surface of the radiation detector, and the wall defines a space inclined with respect to the detection surface. The space allows heat transfer medium such as air of relatively high temperatures (higher than that of outside air, for example) to rise along a slope defined by the space. If the region around the detection surface is heated to high temperatures, airflow is generated within the space, forcing the relatively high-temperature heat transfer medium away from the vicinity of the radiation detector, thereby allowing the whole radiation detector to be cooled in a uniform manner.

  • Publication number: 20090078879
Abstract: A radiation solid-state detecting device includes a timing control signal detector, which detects the output of a timing control signal from a timing control circuit, and which outputs the detected output to a temperature controller as an image information output detection signal. When the temperature controller is supplied with the image information output detection signal, the temperature controller halts supply of direct current from a DC power supply to Peltier devices, while also stopping a fan from being energized, to thereby temporarily stop a temperature regulation control process from being carried out on a sensor substrate.

  • Patent number: 7485890
Abstract: An EL layer is located between a linear electrode and an opposite electrode, which stands facing the linear electrode, either one of the linear electrode and the opposite electrode being constituted of a light transmissive electrode. Electric power is supplied across the EL layer, which is located between the linear electrode and the opposite electrode, via the linear electrode and the opposite electrode. An optical intensity of light radiated out from the EL layer, across which the electric power has been supplied, is detected. The electric power, which is supplied across the EL layer, is controlled such that the thus detected optical intensity and a predetermined optical intensity, which has been set previously, become approximately identical with each other.

  • Patent number: 7373456
Abstract: Times at which requests for a data read or data write from/to a logical volume are received are stored in memory as access times of a RAID group making up the logical volume. When a predetermined time has elapsed after the access time, a number of the hard disk drives according to the redundancy of the RAID group are set to a power saving mode. Assume there are first hard disk drives and second hard disk drives having shorter lifes and the RAID group exceeds a predetermined time after the access time. When the RAID group consists of only the first drives, a number of the first drives according to the redundancy of the RAID group are set to a power saving mode and when it consists of only the second drives, an arbitrary number of second drives are set to a power saving mode.
