  • Patent number: 7008662
Abstract: Warm and wet air are applied to brown rice with germinated germs, produced by adding water to the brown rice, for removing water attached to a surface of the rice. A surface of the germinated brown rice is polished by a rice-polishing machine while remaining the germinated germs to obtain rice with germinated germs. Water of about 1 to 10% of rice weight is added to soften the rice surface. The rice and granules whose granule size is set to a constant granule size smaller than that of the rice and which is heated to 60° C. or higher are mixed with the rice and stirred. Rice bran remaining on a rice surface after polishing is absorbed by the granules and is removed. And, the rice and granules are separated from each other.

  • Patent number: 5752664
Abstract: In an abrasive type vertical grain milling machine, there are mounted, on a main shaft extending generally vertically and disposed rotatably in an upright bran-removing cylinder, a screw roll for feeding grain, a plurality of abrasive milling rolls disposed below the screw roll in spaced relation to each other along the main shaft for abrading the grain, and a rotary roll disposed below the plurality of abrasive milling rolls for sending out the grain having been abraded to a grain discharge portion in such a manner that the plurality of abrasive milling rolls and the rotary roll are located within the bran-removing cylinder, a gap defined between the abrasive milling rolls adjacent to each other forming a jet-air slot, the bran-removing cylinder being communicated with a grain supply portion at an upper end thereof and with the grain discharge portion at a lower end thereof. A lower part of the bran-removing cylinder is extended downward so as to face horizontally to the rotary roll.

Preferably, the ratio of each of the regular pitches to a width of the pattern of paint spray is less than 0.3.

  • Patent number: 5477268
Abstract: An apparatus is utilized to detect defects and finish a surface of a workpiece moving at a predetermined speed along an automatic finishing line. The defects are detected and the surface is finished by a manipulator disposed at a predetermined finishing station of the automatic finishing line. The manipulator has an image pickup device and a finishing device combined into one unit. The apparatus performs the steps of moving the manipulator relative to a workpiece while detecting a surface defect on a surface of the workpiece with the image pickup device. The apparatus moves the manipulator at the same speed as the workpiece while finishing the surface defects on the surface of the workpiece with the finishing device.

  • Patent number: 5331169
Abstract: An inspection method including the steps of irradiating a light with a predetermined changing pattern onto a substantially specular surface to be inspected through an irradiation device facing the surface, forming an image based on reflected light in correspondence with the predetermined changing pattern by an imaging device, and utilizing reflected light of only 200-350 nm wavelength to form the image so as to detect a flaw in the surface by identifying points which differ from the changing pattern of the irradiation device. The flaws in the coating can be detected with a high accuracy irrespective of the color of the coating surface. An inspection device is also provided for the same object.
