  • Patent number: 5487516
Abstract: A train control system includes an equipment for issuing, to a train under control based on a predetermined train schedule, an operational target to be attained in terms of the aimed position, aimed time and aimed speed. Once a target is issued, a possible run region of the train is determined, and another target may be set within the possible run region such that the train is not subjected to the ATC-based speed limitation or the like, thereby minimizing the cause of delay of the train operation.

  • Patent number: 5265222
Abstract: A symbolization apparatus which includes a membership function memory unit for storing a membership function used in fuzzy logic processing. In the symbolization apparatus a process condition change pattern is converted into an ambiguous symbol in order to build up a system capable of effecting an inference and decision approximate to a skilled operator against an object process. A process condition value memory is disclosed for holding a measurement of the process condition value and a process operation amount, a control history memory unit for storing operations and values converted into symbolic expressions, control units and a knowledge base for storing the information relating to the casual relations between the process control values and the process conditions. The process control system and a control support system comprise the function of condition identification approximate to that of a skilled operator by the use of the symbolization apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5175797
Abstract: A method and apparatus of a learning type decision support system are provided for improved acquisition of a priori knowledge from the system object and expression of non-linear structures in the object. The system is comprised of a learning module and an executing module for outputting advice and process manipulate command values to system users by receiving input data comprising on-line data and file data.

  • Patent number: 5109431
Abstract: An apparatus for comparing a data pattern with standard patterns to discriminate the data pattern retrieves vector series of the standard patterns associated with the data pattern. Categorized names are assigned to data of the vector series so as to be respectively associated with elements of the data pattern, thereby determining a similarity degree and a scale factor between the vector series.

  • Patent number: 4802094
Abstract: A method and an apparatus of removing works from each of the facilities in a production line is described in order to facilitate changing of a work monitoring operation in accordance with, for example, a layout change in the production line and a change in the facilities. Work tracking conditions are stored in a memory in the form of a table, and work tracking management data and plant status data which have been stored in the memory separately are retrived while the work tracking conditions are referred to, thereby extracting management data for which tracking conditions have been completed. The extracted management data is subjected to processing such as movement and updating in accordance with the contents of the above-described data which are referred to.

  • Patent number: 4638227
Abstract: In order to execute a series of moving sequences by synchronous and exclusive control of unit operations taught or programed in advance, there are provided a first storing of the relationship of the sequence of execution of each unit operation to other unit operations to be controlled synchronously or exclusively; a second storing of information relating to the operational status of each unit operation; and a third storing of operating instructions for executing each unit operation. When machine tools have stopped due to the occurrence of an abnormality while a series of unit operations are being executed by the operating instructions stored in the third storing means, a unit operation for restarting on the basis of the relationship of the executing sequence stored during the first storing is appointed, and information concerning the operational status stored during the second storing is corrected.

  • Patent number: 4049957
Abstract: A dual computer system comprising a pair of computer systems and a dual system controller for monitoring the results of the operations by the computer systems. When the results of the operations coincide with each other, such results are applied to an external output register for process control, while when there is non-coincidence between the results of the operations the operation of the computer systems is interrupted and both the computer systems are checked with a diagnose routine for detection as to whether the operation is normal or abnormal. In the system, a status register is provided so that the computer systems can read the content of the register before being placed in independent operation. The main and subsidiary computer systems read the content of the register with different timing so that they may not arbitrarily deliver their outputs to the external output register due to malfunctions of the dual system controller.
