  • Patent number: 5180059
Abstract: A package of a sanitary tampon used to absorb menstrual blood, the package comprising a packing sheet assembly composed of two sheets superposed one upon another to form sheet parts that extend in at least Three directions, two of the sheet parts being bonded at their sides facing each other and at a free end so as to enclose one part of the tampon, the other sheet part enclosing the other part of the tampon in such a state that when the thus packed tampon is used a periphery of the tampon's lower part held with the fingers is insulated from a periphery of the tampon's upper part to be inserted in the vagina thus protecting the fingers from any smudge.

  • Patent number: 5041080
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a tampon applicator having a tampon for physiological use to absorb woman's menstrual blood, and comprising a rotatable member connected to a trailing end of the applicator and rotated to thereby cause the tampon to be protruded from and retracted into an outer cylindrical member of a case. The tampon in its spared state is thus held within the outer cylindrical member so that the applicator can be made small-sized and easy to carry. The tampon applicator is easily used by simply rotating only the rotatable member, without fear of staining fingers wherein protrusion of the tampon out of the case can be adjusted by rotation of the rotatable member so that a user can protrude the tampon to a desired length most appropriate to her before she inserts the tampon in her vagina, whereby she can use the applicator with a reduced feeling of disorder or incongruity because the tampon is inserted together with the case after protruded therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4328804
Abstract: A hygienic tampon and a tampon applicator. The tampon comprises a rope-shaped absorbent material coiled in parallel whirls and compressed into a bullet form and a withdrawal string attached to an end of the absorbent material. Because of the coiled structure, the tampon expands to all directions upon absorption of menstrual fluid to fully fill in the body cavity thereby preventing leakage. The expanded tampon can easily be withdrawn as the coiled tampon body is uncoiled when the withdrawl string is pulled. The tampon applicator comprises an outer tube for accomodation of a tampon therein and an inner tube telescopically engageable with the outer tube and operable to push the tampon out of the forward end of the outer tube and it is characterized in that a cap of water soluble material is detachably mounted on the forward end of the outer tube to cover the forward end and the head of the tampon. The water soluble cap assures smooth insertion of the tampon without pain.
