  • Patent number: 9505236
Abstract: When an inkjet printer includes suction means for sucking the outside air into the inkjet printer, a heated recording medium is rapidly cooled by the air flowing in a vicinity of a discharge port for the recording medium. This causes fluctuations in surface temperature, resulting in degraded image quality. Accordingly, the inkjet printer has both a configuration capable of directly sucking, into a carriage, the outside air sucked into an apparatus, and a configuration of preventing the air from passing through an inside of the carriage. Thus, a temperature of the inside of the carriage can be reduced effectively. In order to prevent a reduction in temperature of the recording medium in the vicinity of the discharge port, a heater is arranged so as to increase a heating capacity of heating. Through temperature control on the heater based on a temperature of a region that is easily reduced in temperature, a local reduction in temperature of the recording medium is suppressed.

  • Publication number: 20160339727
Abstract: An ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording head ejecting ink; a buffer tank temporarily storing the ink; a mounting unit to which a main tank that stores the ink is capable of being mounted, the main tank having a first supply port from which the ink is supplied to the recording head and a second supply port from which the ink is supplied to the buffer tank; a first detecting unit detecting an ink volume in the main tank; and a control unit performing a discharge operation to discharge the ink in the buffer tank from the recording head via the main tank in a pre-transportation process in the ink jet recording apparatus. The control unit prompts a user to replace the main tank without performing the discharge operation if the ink volume detected by the first detecting unit is smaller than a threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20160303857
Abstract: A printer according to this invention includes a print head, a carriage, a recovery unit, and a controller. The controller causes a recovery operation to be performed based on a total value of two values. Assuming that front and rear arrays of discharge port arrays during outbound movement of the carriage are defined as first and second arrays, respectively, the first value is obtained by multiplying a sum of an amount of ink discharged from the first array during outbound movement of the carriage and an amount of ink discharged from the second array during homebound movement of the carriage by a first coefficient, and the second value is obtained by multiplying a sum of an amount of ink discharged from the second array during outbound movement of the carriage and an amount of ink discharged from the first array during homebound movement of the carriage by a second coefficient.

  • Patent number: 9446596
Abstract: In an inkjet printer, there has been a problem in that a recording medium is charged with electricity due to friction and separation at the time of conveyance of the recording medium, and ink mist is attracted to a portion charged with electricity to have an unexpected pattern to be recorded. In view of this problem, static electricity generated on the recording medium is removed by providing a carriage with an ionizer for generating a positive ion and an ionizer for generating a negative ion and generating the ions at the time of scan of the carriage. Through the arrangement of the ionizers for generating the ions of both polarities, namely, the positive ion and the negative ion, on the carriage, and on/off control on the ions to be generated in each scan, an amount of ions to be supplied per unit area of the recording medium can be made uniform, with the result that the static electricity can be removed efficiently.

  • Patent number: 9381686
Abstract: A molding die is devised to suppress the formation of a fragile layer, thereby ensuring stable production of a resin molded body having remarkably improved adhesion of a plating film. A plurality of stepped parts are formed so as to be spaced apart from each other on a second die surface which molds a back surface on the side opposite to a design surface to which metal plating is to be applied, along the main flowing direction of a molten resin and in a direction crossing the main flowing direction. Since the flow of the molten resin changes due to the stepped parts and the influence thereof extends even to the vicinity of the design surface, the formation of a fragile layer is suppressed.

  • Publication number: 20160129701
Abstract: In a printer in which an inkjet head is mounted in a carriage, which is movable in a direction intersecting with a conveyance direction of a recording medium, and ink is ejected from the inkjet head to record an image onto the recording medium, there has been a problem in that the recording medium is charged due to friction and separation at the time of conveyance of the recording medium, and ink mist is attracted to a portion charged to have an unexpected pattern to be recorded. In view of this problem, static electricity generated on the recording medium is removed by providing the carriage with an ionizer for generating a positive ion and an ionizer for generating a negative ion and generating the ions at the time of scanning of the carriage. The static electricity can be removed efficiently by arranging on the carriage the ionizers for generating the ions of both polarities, namely, the positive ions and the negative ions.
