  • Patent number: 6241539
Abstract: In order to drive connectors relatively to mating connectors in a housing for connection and disconnection of the connectors with the mating connectors, the connectors have projections thereon which projects outside of the housing when received in the housing, and a slider is slidably mounted on the housing and having a groove with a cam portion for receiving the projection. When the slider is pulled or pushed, the projection is driven by the cam portion of the groove to drive the connectors. Partitions are mounted in the housing to partition an inner space of the housing into a plurality of rooms for accommodating the connectors so as to separate between adjacent connectors by the partition. Each of the partition has engaging projections engaged with engaging holes formed in the housing wall. One of the engaging holes is registry with the groove of the slider so that the corresponding one of the engaging projection is also received in the groove at the projecting end through the engaging hole.

  • Patent number: 5735709
Abstract: In a zero insertion force connector for flexible circuit boards, there are a housing, plural flexible circuit boards in multiple rows, an insulator holding the flexible circuit boards and displaceable in perpendicular to the flexible circuit boards in the housing, a counterpart insulator having plural pairs of broader counterpart contacts than thickness of the flexible circuit boards, and a driving member for displacing the insulator so as to incline the flexible circuit boards. When the driving member is operated, the insulator presses the flexible circuit boards. Then the flexible circuit boards incline, and connect the counterpart contacts respectively.

  • Patent number: 5704800
Abstract: In an electrical connector wherein a cover insulator with mount of an LSI package is moved in a predetermined direction relative to a base insulator supporting a contact element in a contact hole so as to move a package pin in the contact hole toward a contact portion of the contact element to thereby bring the package pin into contact with the contact portion, the contact portion is a plate with an L-shape slit and having two finger portions to provide a two-point contact with the package pin and is elastically deflected by an inner projection on an inner wall to be preloaded to thereby reduce a force for bringing the package pin into contact with the contact portion but without reduction of contact pressure.

  • Patent number: 5662236
Abstract: In a waterproof case in which a hood (1) contains a connector (P) to prevent the connector from being exposed to water, a cap (4) is for closing an opening portion 10a of the hood and has an end which is rotatably held to the hood through a mounting linkage (5) so that the opening portion can be opened and closed one at a time. A lever (6) is rotatably mounted to the hood at an end thereof. A locking linkage (7) is rotatably mounted at an end thereof to an intermediate portion which is between both ends of the lever. When the lever is rotated by operating the other end with the other end of the locking linkage engaged with the other end of the cap in the state of closing the opening portion, the cap is kept to a condition in which the opening portion is closed.

  • Patent number: 5622505
Abstract: For electrically connecting a conductor pattern (25) printed on a surface of a flexible insulator sheet (23) to a circuit board (13), an insulating resilient piece (33) is attached to the opposite surface of the flexible sheet and obliquely projects from said opposite surface. A connecting member (15) having a contact (17) to be electrically connected to the circuit board has an insulator block (16) having a receiving hole (18) for receiving the flexible sheet and the resilient piece together. The contact is exposed in the receiving hole so that the contact is brought into contact with the conductor pattern of the flexible sheet when a projecting portion of the resilient piece is pressed towards the flexible sheet received in the receiving hole by an actuating member (31, 39, 41). By the use of the connecting arrangement, a multi-row connector (11) is assembled which is for establishing electric connection to the connecting member as a paired connector.

  • Patent number: 5609492
Abstract: An electrical connector having a cap rotatable by a link mechanism, there are a connector housing, a first link having a symmetrical structure of both sides of the connector housing and pivoted at the connector housing, a second link having a symmetrical structure of both sides of the connector housing and pivoted at the first link, a cap pivoted at the second link, a sealing member installed at circumference of the cap or a connector on the connector housing, and wherein at least one of the first link and the second link is made of a one piece member. The cap is fitted to a top of the connector housing, and covers the connector to lead into a waterproof state. When an operator pushes up a handle of the second link by his finger, the first link and the second link rotate. Then the cap takes off from the top of the connector housing, and so the connector is ready for electrical connection.
