  • Publication number: 20090110580
Abstract: The present invention provides a scroll type fluid machine realizing reduced attachment space in a casing and improvement in workability at the time of assembly and the like by using a plurality of ball coupling mechanisms. A plurality of ball coupling mechanisms are disposed between a casing and a rear side of an orbiting scroll. Each of the ball coupling mechanisms includes first and second thrust receivers (reception plates), a sphere, and a cylindrical ring. A thrust load to be applied to an end plate of the orbiting scroll is received between the first and second thrust receivers (reception plates) and the sphere. The cylindrical ring disposed between the first and second thrust receivers displays a so-called rotation preventing effect in such a manner that its outer peripheral surface makes a rolling contact with inner peripheral surfaces of cylindrical portions in association with an orbiting motion of the orbiting scroll.

  • Publication number: 20090085312
Abstract: A pressure keeping mechanism is provided downstream of a discharge port of a compressor. The pressure keeping mechanism is set to a small flow path area having only a bypass orifice until a pressure in a downstream pipe reaches a predetermined pressure after the operation is started, the pressure keeping mechanism is set to a large flow path area of a pressure keeping valve which is opened when the pressure exceeds the predetermined pressure and the bypass orifice, thereby changing the flow path area at least in two stages. The pressure in the upstream pipe which is almost closed by the pressure keeping valve can be thus increased at a dash and the pressure in a compression chamber can also be increased swiftly immediately after the compressor is started.

  • Publication number: 20090087331
Abstract: This invention provides a scroll type fluid machine which can simultaneously realize the stabilization of the behavior in the rotational direction of an orbiting scroll and the reduction in the manufacturing cost by the ease of holding a grease. In the scroll type fluid machine, three pairs of rotation prevention mechanisms are provided between a casing and an orbiting scroll. The rotation prevention mechanism is constituted of first and second ball coupling mechanisms having a function different from each other. The first ball coupling mechanism supports the thrust load of the orbiting scroll. Meanwhile, the second ball coupling mechanism supports the rotation force of the orbiting scroll.

  • Publication number: 20080206083
Abstract: Durability of a seal member is improved by reducing a surface pressure thereon. A seal mechanism 24 is provided between a backpressure plate 16 and a holder 17 so as to surround an orbiting backpressure chamber 18. The seal member 24 comprises a seal attachment groove 25, a seal member 26 and a Y-shaped packing 27. The seal attachment groove 25 is stepped on its outer circumference side to define a shallow bottom portion 25B. The seal member 26 includes, on its outer circumference side, a cutout portion 26D matching the shallow bottom portion 25B. The Y-shaped packing 27 is disposed between a deep groove peripheral wall 25C of the seal attachment groove 25 and the cutout portion 26D of the seal member 26, and a backpressure chamber 28 is defined on a reverse surface 26B side of the seal member 26. By this arrangement, a slide surface 26A of the seal member 26 can be larger than an effective area of the backpressure side of the seal member 26.

  • Patent number: 7309219
Abstract: The present invention provides a scroll type fluid machine which enables both of a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll to be cooled by means of a cooling fan, and which enables an overall size of the machine to be compact. Cooling fans 38A and 38B are connected to a rotary shaft 18 between an electric motor 15 and orbiting scrolls 26A and 26B. Outer cases 3A and 3B are provided with flow inlet openings 42A and 42B, flow outlet openings 43A and 43B, scroll ducts 44A and 44B and cooling device ducts 46A and 46B. Compression portions 6A and 6B are operated by rotatably driving the rotary shaft 18 using the electric motor 15. In this instance, the cooling fans 38A and 38B are rotated with the rotary shaft. Therefore, with a simple structure having no electric fans, the fixed scrolls 7A and 7B, the orbiting scrolls 26A and 26B and the cooling device 47 can be efficiently cooled, and a compressor having a compact size and a high cooling performance can be formed.

  • Patent number: 6808373
Abstract: Inner peripheral projections are provided on the inner peripheral surface of a wrap portion of an orbiting scroll member, and outer peripheral projections are provided on the outer peripheral surface of the wrap portion. The inner and outer peripheral projections each have an approximately triangular transverse sectional configuration defined by a narrow top of the projection and a pair of concavely arcuate surfaces extending with a wide overall width so that the projections can prevent stress concentration with the concavely arcuate surfaces to increase the mechanical strength and can be readily machined by using a tool, e.g. an end mill. When contacting the mating wrap portion, the narrow tops of the projections are readily crushed or worn. Therefore, the tops of the projections can become fit to the wrap portion without strongly contacting it many times.

  • Patent number: 6267572
Abstract: A scroll fluid machine requiring no crank shaft to orbitably support an orbiting scroll member and capable of being reduced in overall size in the axial direction. In a casing, two fixed scroll members are provided on the axis of the casing, and an electric motor is provided between the fixed scroll members. Eccentric bearings each having an outer ring, an intermediate ring and an inner ring are provided between the electric motor and the fixed scroll members. The inner periphery of each intermediate ring is formed with an axis eccentric with respect to the axis of the casing. Orbiting scroll members are integrated with the inner rings through an orbiting shaft. The orbiting shaft is caused to orbit by rotating a rotating shaft with the electric motor, thereby causing the orbiting scroll members to orbit relative to the fixed scroll members.

  • Patent number: 6224357
Abstract: A fixed scroll member has a spiral wrap portion. An orbiting scroll member has a spiral wrap portion similar to the wrap portion of the fixed scroll member. The wrap portion of the orbiting scroll member has its wall thickness increased at the inner peripheral surface side thereof to have a larger wall thickness than that of the wrap portion of the fixed scroll member. The inner peripheral surface of the wrap portion of the orbiting scroll member contacts the outer peripheral surface of the wrap portion of the fixed scroll member at two contact points. On the other hand, a clearance is formed between the outer peripheral surface of the wrap portion of the orbiting scroll member and the inner peripheral surface of the wrap portion of the fixed scroll member over the entire length of the peripheral surfaces. The orbiting scroll member is constantly urged in a direction in which rotational torque acts, and thus allowed to orbit smoothly.
