  • Patent number: 4874671
Abstract: The anti-glare screen of the invention is composed of an anti-glaring base sheet which is a striped silicone rubber sheet formed of alternately disposed narrow sections of a transparent silicone rubber and a colored, e.g. black, and opaque silicone rubber, each section having a specified width, a transparent lining sheet bonded to one surface of the anti-glaring base sheet and a layer of a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the other surface of the anti-glaring base sheet. By virtue of the high heat resistance of the silicone rubbers, the anti-glare screen can be used to increase the visibility of any displays even when it is heated at an elevated temperature of up to 200.degree. C. as in traffic signals illuminated with an incandescent lamp or as an anti-glare covering in front of a metering panels of automobile dashboards sometimes subject to extreme temperature elevation when the car is prolongedly parked under direct sun shine.

  • Patent number: 4775574
Abstract: A covering member of keyboard prepared by separately fixing the push button elements to a base plate instead of integral molding is disclosed in which the plate has openings arranged conforming to the pattern of the fixed contact points on the circuit board. Fixing is carried out by using a silicone rubber-based adhesive or a pressure-sensitive adhesive optionally with the aid of tailing of protrusions on the base plate into the cavity of the base of the push button elements. A method of using unit bodies carrying push button elements is alternatively used. A base plate having openings arranged in the pattern corresponding to the fixed contact points is also disclosed for use in fixing the push button elements.

  • Patent number: 4745241
Abstract: In the inventive touch-operated see-through coordinate input unit, the contacting wires embedded in the upper and lower substrate sheets in a relative perpendicular disposition are divided into groups each of at least two of the adjacent wires and the wires belonging to the same group are bonded to the same electrode. When the upper sheet is depressed with a finger tip or stylus point at a crossing point of the wires on the upper and lower sheets, electrical contact can be obtained at two points or more between wires so that, different from conventional coordinate input units in which electrical contact is obtained at only a single point by a pushing stroke, the reliability of the input operation can be greatly improved also with decreased fatigue of the operator in continuous working of long time.

  • Patent number: 4520562
Abstract: The invention provides a novel and improved method for manufacturing an elongated piece of a composite body composed of a rubber or plastic body of an elongated form and a plurality of electroconductive linear bodies embedded in or bonded on the surface of the elongated rubber or plastic body in alignment, each of the linear bodies extending in the transverse direction of the elongated body in substantial parallelism with each other and being in a curved, bent or corrugated form useful as a connector, electromagnetic shielding gasket and the like. Different from conventional known methods, the invention proposes a method in which the linear bodies are first integrated with the sheet of rubber or plastic followed by corrugating the linear bodies together with the sheet and chopping of the thus corrugated composite body into pieces in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the linear bodies.

  • Patent number: 4416498
Abstract: The invention provides an improvement in a socket-type connector used for making electric connection between two circuit units. Unlike a conventional socket-type connector in which a contacting element made of a metal piece in a form of something like a spring is fixed in a rigid socket, at least a part of the socket of the inventive connector is made of an electrically insulating and elastically resilient material so that a pin plug inserted into the socket is held firmly and in good reliable contact with the contacting element by virtue of the elastic resilience given by the part of the socket made of the elastically resilient material where the socket is deformed by the insertion of the pin plug to exhibit rubbery resilience.

  • Patent number: 4145317
Abstract: An improved pressure-sensitive resistance element is provided which is composed of an electrically non-conductive matrix of a rubbery elastomer and electrically conductive particles dispersed therethrough to have a gradient of distribution from one side to the other of the matrix. Such resistance elements can be manufactured by preliminarily mixing a fluid silicone rubber composition with the conductive particles to be uniformly dispersed therein and subsequently subjecting the mixture to curing to form a rubbery elastomer while, concurrently, the particles are naturally or by force allowed to settle to form the gradient of distribution within the matrix. The resistance elements are superior in easily obtaining the desired resistivity in a wide range by adjusting pressure applied thereto as well as a long service life, compared to products of the kind hitherto known.
