  • Patent number: 7667787
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a transmission type liquid crystal display apparatus using a backlight device for delivering rays of display light which have been emitted from a large number of light emitting diodes to a transmission type display panel, wherein an optical sheet block (10) is provided between a liquid crystal panel (5) and a light source unit (7) including a large number of LEDs (12), the transmission type liquid crystal display apparatus comprising a light diffusion plate (15), consisting of resin, having light transmitting characteristic, which is adapted control incidence of rays of display light which have been emitted from the respective LEDs (12). At the light diffusion plate (15), light adjustment patterns (18) facing the respective LEDs (12) and adapted to take a shape which has dimensions including outer shape thereof and is longitudinally elongated are formed by light reflection ink.

Abstract: A transmission liquid crystal display device using a backlight device for supplying display light emitted from a large number of light emission diodes to a transmission display panel. The transmission liquid crystal display device has an optical sheet block (10) between a liquid crystal panel (5) and a light source unit (7) having a large number of LEDs (12) and has a light diffusion plate (15), which has light transmission properties and is made of resin, for controlling the incidence of display light emitted from each of the LEDs (12). On the light diffusion plate (15) are formed vertically long light modulation patterns (18) by using light reflective ink. Each pattern (18) faces each LED (12) and has a size equal to the size of each LED (12) including its external shape. The light modulation patterns (18) uniformize the light emitted from the LEDs (12) and realize an image display of high brightness where color irregularity and horizontal stripes are suppressed.

  • Patent number: 5785817
Abstract: A moldable pulp material, which contains a main constituent of pulp comprising strips of paper having a size of millimeters and a fibrous component defibrated from waste paper, a starch binder in which a portion of the hydroxyl group in molecules of starch is modified, and thermally expandable hollow particles, is mixed with water which is effective to gelatinize the starch binder. The moldable pulp material is filled in a mold assembly and compressed in the mold assembly. The compressed moldable pulp material is then heated to at least a gelatinization temperature at which the starch binder is gelatinized, for thereby gelatinizing the starch binder to produce a molded pulp product for use as a shock absorbing material.
