  • Patent number: 10051276
Abstract: The present invention can generate lines whose spatial correlation is high from a Bayer array imaging element, and can raise the coding efficiency of a captured image thereby. A read out controller reads two lines of pixel data from the Bayer array imaging element, generates two new lines by sorting, in accordance with a rule set in advance, pixel data included in the two lines that are read out, and outputs the result; a first encoder that inputs and encodes one of the two new lines obtained by the read out controller; and a second encoder that inputs and encodes the other of the two new lines obtained by the read out controller. Then, the read out controller generates a line configured by pixels of a single color component as at least one of the two new lines.

  • Patent number: 8994783
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus that is capable of controlling the time elapsing from when a shooting scene is determined to when switching between shooting mode is performed, thus making it possible to take images desired by a user. A motion of the image pickup apparatus is detected, and based on the detection result, a motion of the image pickup apparatus is determined. A shooting scene is determined based on a video signal obtained from the image pickup unit. A shooting mode is determined based on the result of scene determination. Based on the result of determination, the ease of switching to the determined shooting mode is changed.

  • Patent number: 8988581
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus capable of highly efficiently realizing optical corrections of various aberrations while reducing the load imposed on a central processing unit (CPU). A plurality of optical correction units apply optical correction processes to a plurality of aberrations in an optical system. A time period assigned for the optical correction processes and a time period required for the optical correction processes are acquired. Priorities of the plurality of optical correction units are decided if the time period required for the optical correction processes is longer than the time period assigned for the optical correction processes. The plurality of optical correction units execute the optical correction processes according to the decided priorities.
