  • Patent number: 5049794
Abstract: A wiper control system includes measures an elapsed time of operation cycle, through which a wiper blade assembly performs one cycle of wiper operation. The wiper control system resets the measured elapsed time when ever the wiper blade assembly reaches a predetermined position. On the other hand, wiper control system detects the measured elapsed time exceeding a given period of time to initiate a predetermined fail-safe operation. In practice, the fail-safe operation is performed to intermittently drive the wiper motor with an interval which is long enough to sufficiently cooling off the wiper motor, when fail-safe operation is performed while wiper system is maintained ON, and to terminate driving of the wiper motor when the wiper system is turned OFF.

  • Patent number: 4811015
Abstract: A circuit for detecting an abnormal transmission state on a signal transmission line, the abnormal state being such that a short-circuit or open-circuiting occurs in the signal transmission line, applicable to a time-division multiplex transmission network system having an address clock line and a data transmission line. The circuit includes a first latch circuit, which is set by a trailing edge of a data receivable interval specification pulse to a state indicating no presence of the specification pulse, wherein the specification pulse is derived from an address coincidence circuit constituting one data receiver of the network system. The first latch circuit latches the state of presence or absence of the specification pulse on a trailing edge of a start bit constituting data to be received.

  • Patent number: 4809266
Abstract: A time-division multiplex transmission network system applicable to an automotive vehicle in which each data transmission station constituting the whole network system together with data reception stations is activated to transmit a data only when an address (station identification information) allocated thereto coincides with one of the series of information on the specification of a pair of stations between which the data is communicated. Consequently, discharge of a battery whose electric power is distributed into all data transmission and reception stations can remarkably be reduced since other transmission and reception stations are deactivated during the time slot at which the address allocated to the pair of transmission and reception stations coincides with the one information for specifying the data communication stations.

  • Patent number: 4712211
Abstract: A network system having a plurality of data transmitters and receivers interconnected to a data transmission line and to a time series code string signal transmission line. In the network system, a first pulse train signal according to a predetermined time series code is produced and sent on the time series code string signal transmission line. In each data transmitter and receiver, the first pulse train signal is received and demodulated to form an intermediate synchronization signal and a plurality of predetermined code string patterns.

  • Patent number: 4146759
Abstract: An ignition distributor for automotive vehicles comprises a shaft, a rotor arm mounted on the shaft for rotation therewith, a stationary center electrode mounted coaxially with the shaft, and a plurality of angularly spaced stationary outer electrodes. A contact member is secured to the rotor arm which extends between the center of the shaft and a point adjacent to the outer electrode and comprises a baseplate secured to the rotor arm and a resistive film secured to the baseplate, the latter being in electrical contact with the center electrode and in radially inwardly spaced from the outer electrode such that a sudden breakdown of air occurs when the outer end of the contact plate is positioned in proximity to the outer electrode generating an electric discharge. The baseplate is composed of a material having lower electrical conductivity than that of the resistive film so that a distributed constant RC transmission path is formed along the passage of the discharge current.
