Patent number: 5329211Abstract: A comparator detects a set-up voltage superimposed on a video signal. The detected set-up voltage is input to a timing information detection circuit to detect the display start timings and display end timings of a video signal or a single line and a single picture, respectively. Then, the detected timing information is input to an arithmetic operation means to determine the display period of the video signal for the single line and single picture and further determine the ratios thereof with respect to predetermined reference values. Further, the amounts of dislocation of the timing relationship between the display periods for the single line and single screen and a horizontal synchronizing signal and vertical synchronizing signal from predetermined reference relative relationships are determined, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1993Date of Patent: July 12, 1994Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Kazuyoshi Sasaki, Kikuo Tomita

Patent number: 5322394Abstract: A highly stiff end mill comprising a shank, a plurality of helix cutting edges on the periphery of the end mill, the end mill being characterized in that a radial rake angle of the helix cutting edges in a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the end mill is set in the range of -29.degree. to 0.degree. and a core diameter of the end mill is set in the range of 70 to 90% of the outside diameter of the end mill.By selectively determining the negative rake angle in the range described above, this end mill is applicable to hard materials and has general-purpose properties. The improper factors of the end mill, such as increased cutting resistance, can be compensated for by setting the core diameter thereof to the range described above. This end mill is also structured to be able to cut materials with less hardness values as well as hard materials, thereby covering a wide range of applications.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1992Date of Patent: June 21, 1994Assignee: Hitachi Tool Engineering, Ltd.Inventors: Ryosuke Okanishi, Kazuyoshi Sasaki, Takahito Kuroda, Keiji Ishikawa, Osamu Goto

Patent number: 5173778Abstract: In a color television receiver having a hand-held remote control apparatus, "function items" representing functions of the television receiver (i.e., brightness) and "adjustment items" for adjusting the level of a "function item" (i.e., bright to dark) are displayed on the CRT screen of the television receiver. The function items are displayed on the CRT screen by pushing a first switch of the hand-held remote control apparatus. Subsequently, the color of a displayed function item is varied when one of a plurality of second switches, each corresponding to a function item, is pushed; thus designating that function item. By continuously pushing a second switch, the color of a plurality of adjustment items corresponding to the designated function item are sequentially varied in turn at a predetermined rate. When the color of a desired adjustment item is changed, the second switch is released and the desired adjustment of the television receiver is completed.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 1991Date of Patent: December 22, 1992Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuyoshi Sasaki, Satomi Nakagawa

Patent number: 5172164Abstract: According to the present invention, an image forming apparatus uses a photoconductive member in which microcapsules with a liquid crystal material sealed therein are dispersed inside of a photoconductive layer thereof and comprises a charger for uniformly charging the photoconductive member and an LED head for forming an electrostatic latent image on the photoconductive member, and furthermore, comprises a voltage applying device for applying an alternating electric field to the photoconductive member so as to make the electrostatic latent image visible by the phase transition of the liquid crystal material, and a toner sticking device for sticking toner to the photoconductive member so as to make the electrostatic latent image visible. Therefore, it is possible to easily obtain both a display image and a printed image having high resolution.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1990Date of Patent: December 15, 1992Assignee: Alps Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Mitsugu Fujiwara, Makoto Tomoyori, Kazuyoshi Sasaki

Patent number: 5105185Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for displaying letters, images, etc. as well as a displaying medium used therefor, by which a display medium obtained by superposing a photoconductive layer, in which microcapsules are dispersed on a substrate. The microcapsules enclose a liquid crystal material which transitions between a transparent state and an opaque state by the application of an electric field. The substrate has a conductive surface so that charging of the surface causes the microcapsules to become transparent. An electrostatic latent image is formed on the surface of the displaying medium by irradiating selectively the surface with light. An AC electric field is applied to the displaying medium in order to make the microcapsules opaque at the position corresponding to the place, where the electric field is made disappear thereby making the latent image visible.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 1990Date of Patent: April 14, 1992Assignee: Alps Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Jun Nakanowatari, Makoto Tomoyori, Kazuyoshi Sasaki
